Resident Evil Season 2: Renewed Or Cancelled?

Published by

Resident Evil Season 2 is much-awaited series after its first season which was dropped last week on Netflix. With all episodes of Netflix’s live-action Resident Evil series zooming in, you may be wondering if Resident Evil Season 2 is going to be released.

Resident Evil is a massively popular horror franchise around the world. It has international fame, be it games, movies or merchandise, most people know what the series is even if they haven’t seen the movies or played the games. Based on that fact alone, it seems like there’s a good chance the live-action show will get a lot of views, if only out of curiosity.

Even if you’re not a gamer, it’s very likely that you’ve heard of Resident Evil. Whether it’s for video games or a movie franchise, you probably know what to expect when it comes to the first season.

Split between two timelines (2022 and 2036), the first season of Resident Evil makes the most of the world we currently live in to really scare the audience. While it may be too early to see if the series will be a hit, it’s never too early to speculate about the future.

Is Netflix Resident Evil Season 2 going to happen?

Currently, Netflix is not saying whether Resident Evil will return for a second season. However, this turns out to be quite common with Netflix shows. In most cases, Netflix tends to wait for viewership and audience response to determine if a show will return.

But if I had to predict, I’d say Resident Evil will return for at least another season. Not only is the universe a hugely popular video game with a worldwide audience, but with a film series that is just as popular, many are likely to check the series out of curiosity.

However, Netflix has proven that it is investing in the Resident Evil universe. And that’s because this isn’t the first series on the streaming site. The animated series Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness, released in 2021, was Netflix’s first venture into the world.
