What exactly is the plot of Welcome To Flatch?
When a documentary crew sets out to discover the lives of its citizens in a small American town – their visions, their anxieties – they come across the Midwestern town of Flatch, full of eccentric characters. It’s a place you’d want to visit and maybe even stay if there was a decent motel nearby, which there isn’t.
Kelly Mallet and Lloyd “Shrub” Mallet, cousins and best friends, provide deserving subjects for the documentary crew, who open up about their lives and current events in their community.
Father Joe, the local minister, also attempts to guide Kelly and Shrub. He moved to Flatch with his ex-girlfriend, the editor of the local paper The Flatch Patriot, Cheryl Peterson.
