Ratched Season 2 Updates: Evan Romansky created and Ryan Murphy developed the American psychological thriller series ‘Ratched’. The series serves as a prequel to the 1975 film by Milos Forman ‘One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest’.

The plot of the series revolves around an asylum nurse named Mildred Ratched. Set in 1947 the story brings Mildred Ratched on a clandestine mission to a leading psychiatric hospital in Northern California where many unsettling experiments on the human mind were taking place.

Mildred tries to maintain the appearance of a dedicated nurse while infiltrating the mental health care system of the hospital. The darkness that Mildred little by little discovers begins to reveal the nature of true monsters.

Sarah Paulson plays the role of Mildred in the series. Other cast members of the series include Finn Wittrock, Cynthia Nixon, Jon Jon Briones, Charlie Carver, Judy Davis, Sharon Stone, etc.

The series received an order for two seasons at the time of release. The first season premiered on September 18, 2020. Though any release date of a second season has not been announced yet, it is expected that the newer season will arrive soon.

Nurse Mildred Ratched joins the Lucia State Hospital to take her foster brother of the psychiatric hospital who has been admitted to that hospital after being accused of several priests. Veteran actress Sarah Paulson plays the role of Ratched in the series.

In the Time Magazine of 2017, she has been named among the 100 most influential people in the world. Paulson’s first significant acting was in the role of Merlyn Temple in Shaun Cassidy’s horror series ‘American Gothic’ from 1995 to 1996.

In the role of Elisa Cronkite, she starred in the comedy series ‘Jack & Jill’ from 1999 to 2001. In 2006 she played the role of Miss Isringhausen in HBO’s western television ‘Deadwood’.

From 2006 to 2007 Paulson starred as Harriet Hayes in the American comedy series Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip’. In 2009 she played the role of Dr. Claire McCrae in ABC’s comedy series ‘Cupid’. She has been starring in the American anthology horror series ‘American Horror Story’ since 2011 and the anthology true-crime series ‘American Crime Story’ since 2016.

In the historical drama ‘Mrs. America’, Paulson co-starred with Cate Blanchett, Uzo Aduba, Rose Byrne, and Margo Martindale in the role of Alice Macray in 2020.

Edmund is the mentally unstable and murderous foster brother of Mildred Ratched. American actor Finn Wittrock Jr. plays the role of Edmund Tolleson in the series. From 2009 to 2011 Wittrock played the role of Damon Miller in ABC’s soap opera ‘All My Children’.

In ‘American Horror Story: Freak Show’ he starred from 2014 to 2015, from 2015 to 2016 in ‘American Horror Story: Hotel, and in 2019 in ‘American Horror Story: 1984’, and in ‘American Horror Story: Double Feature’ in 2021.
