Mi 10i: Worth buying in 2022? or Not?

Published by

Mi 10i was launched on 28 September 2021. It is a rebranded Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G or the Mi 10T. It has almost the same features, but a few changes have been made for India specifically.

Design: Mi 10i has a similar design to Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G, or Mi 10T. The rear panel is made of glass. Both, the front and rear glasses have Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The frame of the device is metallic, with all the standard ports and buttons. Surprisingly, there is a headphone jack in the device and a dedicated MicroSD card slot.

Display: Mi 10i has a 6.67-inch punch-hole display. It is an IPS LCD panel with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and has HDR10 support too. The front display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The display resolution is 1080 X 2400 pixels. The screen-to-body ratio is 84.6%.

Specifications: Mi 10i has Qualcomm Snapdragon 750 5G chipset to power. This processor is tuned with two variants. One with 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM and 8GB RAM + 256GB ROM. Storage type was latest in 2021 with UFS 2.2 support. The chipset is 8nm based. The phone is based on MIUI 12 based on Android 10. There is an upgrade to Android 11. The MIUI has the optimization throughout the device but there are few bloatwares. The ADs have been removed from the phone to a larger extent.

Camera: Mi 10i has a circular quad camera setup. The primary camera is 108MP, with an 8MP ultra-wide, 2MP macro, and 2MP depth camera. The front camera has a 16MP resolution. The rear camera can shoot 4K vids at 30FPS, with 1080P at 30/60/120FPS. Even the front camera can shoot 1080p videos at 30FPS.

Battery & Connectivity: Mi 10i has 4820mAh battery backup with 33W fast charging. As advertised by the company, it can charge 0-100% in 58 minutes. Although, the battery can sustain a day with heavy usage. There are all types of sensors on this device including a side-mounted fingerprint reader. The phone supports 5G, along with Wi-FI and Bluetooth support.

Is it worth it?
It could not be worth it to buy Mi 10i in 2022 because there are various devices with 5G and a much better processor and display at this price range of ₹20,900.
