Shawn Mendes Wore Orange Shirt to Wango Tango Festival 2022

Published by

Shawn Mende’s fashion choices are making a statement. On Saturday (June 4), the 23-year-old “Treat You Better” singer took the stage at Carson’s Dignity Health Sports Park for a performance at the 2022 iHeartRadio Wango Tango Festival.

Shawn paused in the middle of his performance to explain why he was wearing an orange T-shirt, revealing the significance of the color.

“We’re wearing orange to raise awareness about ending gun violence in America,” Shawn told the crowd, according to People.

He then urged the audience to check out his Instagram post about his collaboration with the non-profit organization Everytown. The Everytown for Gun Safety Support Fund, the organization’s education, research, and litigation arm, is the nation’s largest gun violence prevention organization.

Another mass shooting occurred in America last month when a gunman killed 19 students and two teachers at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas. Less than two weeks prior, an alleged white supremacist murdered ten Black people inside a Buffalo, New York, grocery store.

Shawn isn’t the only celebrity who has recently joined forces with Everytown to combat gun violence.

This musician announced that they are attempting to raise $1 million in ticket sales for Everytown.

Shawn Mendes isn’t the only one who believes that strict measures are needed to put an end to the tragic incidents plaguing America. Earlier, actor Matthew McConaughey responded to the Texas shooting by writing a lengthy letter condemning the terrorist act.

‘What is it that we truly value,’ he wrote How do we fix the problem? What small sacrifices can we all make today to ensure a healthier and safer nation, state, and community tomorrow?”

Taylor Swift, a singer-songwriter, also expressed her shock at the incident, tweeting, “Filled with rage and grief, and so broken by the murders in Uvalde.” By Buffalo, Laguna Woods, and a slew of other places. By the ways in which we as a nation have become conditioned to unfathomable and unbearable heartbreak. Steve’s words ring true and cut deep.”
