A period sitcom, “Young Sheldon” will be returning on your screens with a Season 6. Created by Chuck Lore and Steven Molaro, it is available on CBS to watch. The show began in 2017 as a prequel to “The big bang theory”.
Although released after, the series shows daily happenings in the life of Young Sheldon while The big bang theory had a grown-up one. Narrated by Jim Parsons, he plays the role of adult Sheldon Cooper in the latter. It is a story about a child prodigy who is well equipped with the concepts of mathematics and science.
Although the release date hasn’t been announced yet, we believe it could be out anytime soon. However, read ahead to know what the production has announced.
A Rundown Of The Sitcom- Young Sheldon Season 6
“Young Sheldon” is based on The Big Bang Theory by Chuck Lore and Bill Prady. Taking place in the late 1980s and early 1990s, it is about little Sheldon. Sheldon is a smart and intellectual kid but socially awkward. Let us have a recap of each season :
- SEASON 1 – this season begins to air from September 25, 2017, to May 10, 2018. It comprised 22 episodes and each one was clear in its dramatization. The season starts with 9 years of Sheldon trying to cope with his unique intellectual capabilities. He is also seen as socially shy.
- SEASON 2 – Beginning on 24 September 2018 and concluding on May 16, 2019, the season gained an average viewership of 14 million people. A year older and smarter, Sheldon discovers various things.
- SEASON 3 – Having 21 episodes, this season had one less episode than the 1st and 2nd seasons. It acquired an average of 11 million views and premiered in 2019.
- SEASON 4 – Premiered on November 5, 2020, and ended on 13 May 2021, the season was loaded with comical and interesting episodes.
- SEASON 5 – the 5th season completed its launch this month only. The finale was released on 19th May 2022.
WHEN WILL THE SIXTH SEASON BE RELEASED?
Although launched after “The big bang theory”, “Young Sheldon” is a prequel to the series. The making of it began in 2016 and it was taken up by CBS. Having launched five seasons and each season having satisfactory reviews, the makers have to take it further. Listening to their audience, CBS in March 2021 declared that a fifth, sixth and seventh season will be launched. After the announcement, the fifth (5th) season began to air in the same year in November.
Although the official release date of season 6 of “Young Sheldon” hasn’t been announced, we believe it could be just weeks far. It could also release in the ending months of 2022 and continue till mid-2023.
