Queen of the South Season 6 Details: Unfortunate news for Queen of South fans, the show is not returning for the sixth season. The fifth season of the show had already hinted at the conclusion of the show. Now with audience feedback, it is very likely that the show will not be returning for the sixth season. 

The story follows the poverty-stricken Teresa Mendoza, as she attempts to create and grow a drug empire amid the unforgiving alleys and streets of Mexico after the death of her lover.

Teresa is aided by James, who recognizes her talent for mathematics to build and grow her drug empire. Teresa and Camilla Vargas, the wife of Teresa’s lover’s murderer find friendship within each other. 

Teresa and Camilla collaborate to extend Camill’s drug empire, all while being chased by Epifanio Vargas. This interesting storyline has kept fans hooked for five straight seasons. For those who want to watch the show, it is available on Netflix. 

Queen of the South Season 6 will not return?

The casting is pretty spot on. Teresa Mendoza is played by the talented and gorgeous Alice Braga. She has played roles in films like “Predators” and “Cidade de Deus” (City of God).  

This show has a deeper meaning than just high-packed actions and witty scenes. Experts have gauged this show to also be a portrayal of a young, useful and beautiful life being wasted in the wicked world of drugs and money.

The show poses several questions about what is just superficially being portrayed. Could this show be showing the dangers of the underworld? A call to everyone being deviated toward that path? Well, there can be numerous interpretations. 

The ratings of the show had been dropping progressively throughout the different seasons. This could be another reason why the show will not be coming back. The series has a 68% on Rotten Tomatoes and 7.9/10 on IMDb.  

The cast and crew of the show have been noted remarking that they will miss working on the show and that they had forged a bond of friendship among themselves that they would never forget. It has almost been a year since the last episode of The Queen of the South was released on Netflix. For fans who miss the show terribly, guess you would just have to rewatch the series.
