OnePlus 9RT: A device with mixed opinions.

Published by

OnePlus 9RT Updates: OnePlus has developed great devices over time. Their devices have been flagship devices developed by them and now with the OnePlus 9 series, my opinions are mixed.

What do you see while unboxing?

The box contents are a lot, unlike other flagship devices. The device, along with heavy documentation such as a Quick Start guide, Privacy policy, and a Red Cable Club card, welcomes you to the OnePlus family and a sim ejector tool.

The device has some OnePlus stickers too. The device has a 65W charging brick (surprisingly) and a USB A to USB C charging cable. The box has a premium plastic case, but it isn’t transparent.

OnePlus 9RT Body and Design:

The design of the OnePlus 9RT is similar to the OnePlus 9 family. It looks premium and sturdy. The back of the device is made of glass and the sides are metallic.

The right side of the device has an Alert Slider, along with Lock/Unlock button and a Volume controller on the opposite side. The bottom of the device has a USB C port along with a speaker grill and a nano sim tray. The device does weigh 200gms.

Display: The display size of the OnePlus 9RT is 6.62″, FHD+, AMOLED panel with 120Hz Refresh Rate and 300Hz touch sampling rate. It has a punch hole camera located at the top left and the bezels on the display are maintained. It has a slight chin although. The display has a peak brightness of 1300nits.

Specifications: OnePlus 9RT, being the successor of the OnePlus 9R has a new Snapdragon 888 5G processor making this phone a perfect daily driver. The phone comes with two specifications, 8GB RAM + 128GB ROM and 12GB RAM + 128GB ROM. The device should offer excellent performance for daily tasks and for moderate gaming too.

OS and UI: OnePlus had one of the standout features of its premium OS and regular security updates. It was just after the official Android use to release. But now due to integration with ColorOS, OnePlus has lacked with their OS. Out of the box, this device is installed with Android 11. The UI isn’t as better as OxygenOS. It isn’t bad but not as good as OxygenOS.

Camera: OnePlus 9RT has been equipped with a triple camera setup at the back. The primary camera has a 50MP sensor, along with a 16MP wide-angle camera and a 2MP macro lens. The primary camera does click excellent pictures. At low light too, the primary camera performs very well.

Although wide-angle in low light gives soft and little bit grain images. For the videography, the phone supports 4K 60fps recording. Additional videography features such as slow-mo and time-lapse are also present.

There is a 16MP punch hole selfie camera. The dynamic range of the camera is decent and the pictures are saturated and natural.

Sensors and Connectivity: The device is equipped with all types of sensors. OnePlus 9RT does come with 5G (8 bands), which is awesome and has the support of Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2. It also supports Dual VoLTE and has NFC too.

Final Verdict: This device has mixed opinions because on cameras, processor and performance aspect this is an excellent but in terms of UI and OS it lacks a little. But being priced at 39,999 you can consider this as a choice because it does come with a Snapdragon.
