Welcome to Wedding Hell Update: Kakao M has developed and Seo Joo-wan and Song Je-young have directed the upcoming K-drama that revolves around the preparation of a wedding between two people. The series deals with this theme that is very practical and experienced by many couples who have gone through the hectic process of arranging a wedding.

Seo Jun-hyung and Kim Na-eun are in their 30s and their wedding day is coming soon. They have been dreaming of a fairytale wedding. But as they begin to arrange the wedding ceremony, they soon understand how reality is always ready to shatter their dream.

Lee Jin-Wook and Lee Yeon-hee play the roles of the groom and bride respectively in the series. Other cast members of the series Welcome to Wedding Hell include Kil Yong-woo, Yoon Yoo-sun, I’m Ha-ryong, Kim Mi-Kyung, Hwang Seung-eon, etc. The series is set to release on May 23, 2022, on Kakao TV.

The two of them make an agreement of a two-year-old long marriage but of staying together in a single house only as tenant and landowner.

They decide to respect their personal space and will be deterred from any possibility of being attracted to each other. But even after their signing the contract, their plan does not get the chance to be executed so peacefully as family interventions, expectations of society, and personal struggles make it impossible.

The show navigates the different perspectives about marriage and love through the lives and ideas of the characters.

Lee Min-ki for whom this role is the first-ever small screen lead role plays the role of Nam Se-hee in the series and Jung So-min stars as Yoon Ji-ho. The series ran from October 9 to November 28 of 2017 on tvN.

Familiar Wife-

Studio Dragon was created and Lee Sang-yeob directed this romantic fantasy K-drama that revolves around a married couple discovering themselves in the middle of a totally changed life after their fates are magically altered.

The couple in question is Cha Joo-hyuk and Seo Woo-jin. After five years of married life,  an unusual incident changes their lives in unexpected ways from what they were previously. Joo-hyuk’s first love Lee Hye-won also enters into the scenario.

Ji Sung, Han Ji-min, and Kang Han-na play the roles of Cha Joo-hyuk, Seo Woo-jin, and Lee Hye-won in the series respectively. The show ran from August 1 to September 20 of 2018 on tvN.

Matrimonial Chaos-

Too Hyun-ki directed this South Korean tv series which is the remake of the same-named Japanese tv series of 2013. The show presents different perspectives and thoughts on the subject of love, family, and marriage.

Men and women who are in their 30s share their ideas about these themes. The objective of the show is to navigate the nature of love and marriage in an age when divorce has become very common.

Cha Tae-Hyun, Bae Doona, Lee El, and Son Seok-Koo are some of the cast members of the series. The series ran from October 8 to November 27 of 2018 on KBS2.

Full House –

Pyo Min-soo directed this K-drama series that is an adaptation of the same-named manhwa written by Won Soo-Yeon. The series revolves around a weird series of circumstances.

When aspiring scriptwriter Han Ji-Eun leaves her home for a supposed vacation, her friends sell the house. On her vacation, Ji-Eun comes across Lee Young-Jae who is a famous actor.

After returning Ji-eun discovers that her house has been sold to none other than Young-Jae. To buy it back first she begins to work as a maid for Young-Jae. But later they enter into a contract marriage which starts to be more complicated when both of them feel attracted to each other.

Song Hye-Kyo and Rain play the roles of the role of Han Ji-Eun and Lee Young-Jae respectively in the series. The series ran from July 14 to September 2 of 2004 on Korean Broadcasting System.

You Are My Destiny –

Lee Dong-Yoon and Kim Hee-won directed this K-drama series that revolves around two people who accidentally come across each other but become unalterably involved with each other’s lives from that time. Jang Hyuk and Jang Na-ra are among the cast members of the series.
