Sony Xperia 1 IV Specification, Price, Launch Date, and More

Published by

As we know, Sony is a company, which is more into Television, Sound Systems, and Cameras. With Sony Xperia 1 IV, the manufacturer is trying to just make a place among the flagship devices.

It’s just like another smartphone manufacturer, trying to make a place at every price section in the market. But Sony never compares itself with other brands, as others do. It rather tries to make its own legacy which they are trying with their new device.

All About Sony Xperia 1 IV

The box content is the most simple. Unlike other manufacturers, who give charging cable and manual, the box contains Just the Phone, nothing else. No charging brick, No charging cable, and even no instruction manual. Just like other manufacturers in the league, Sony took the Carbon Emission way too seriously.

What’s new in Design?

There is nothing new in design, just like the Xperia 1 III and its predecessor Xperia 1 II. The device weighs 185 g. The device comes with a glass front and back protected with Gorilla Glass Victus.

One side of the device is flat, whereas the other side consists of a volume rocker, followed by a lock-unlock button and a camera shutter button. The bottom of the device consists of a USB-Type C port, with a SIM insert tray that pop’s out with a click and a speaker grill.  Interestingly, it has a Headphone Jack on the top, which is a very good surprise.

What’s new in Display?

The display size is a 6.5″ OLED panel, with a 120 Hz Refresh Rate. The display still has a chin that isn’t too thin, but manageable. The resolution is 1644 x 3840 pixels with a 21:9 ratio. The display is tall enough and as the display is OLED, viewing angles might not be a very big deal.

Even 4K video playback is supported, so consuming high-quality series would be seamless.  The colors are vibrant on this one and touch sampling is very smooth. Enjoying entertainment might not be a great deal with a vibrant display and stereo speaker setup. This device can not be used for hardcore gaming, but for normal gaming.

What’s new in Software?

The device uses Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. The CPU is Octa-Core, and the device runs on Android 12, Sony provides 2 years of Android Support. The device uses “almost”, a stock android with material UI. This gives the device a very seamless and smooth experience.

What’s new in Cameras?

The device with a Quad camera setup. The Quad camera setup consists of 12MP telephoto, 12MP wide-angle camera, 12MP ultra wide-angle camera, and a 0.3MP depth sensor. The camera performs outstanding because Sony has tweaked it similar to their alpha-series DSLR.

The camera interface might look classical and old-fashion but the sensors capture pictures very naturally. It doesn’t process the image unlike other competitors, which might be a drawback sometimes.

The camera tone is very natural and decent, not over-sharp and over-saturated. The phone does shoot 4K 60FPS videos with natural and vibrant colors.

Upgrades in Battery and Sound!

The phone is fitted with a 5000mAh battery and does support 30W fast charging. It also supports reverse fast charging. The battery backup is decent on this device if used for normal and daily use. If used with cameras, the battery backup might degrade too.

For decent functionality, it should give you 6-Hours of screen time. The sound has been upgraded on this device, with a Dynamic Vibration System which enhances the bass in the device when in hand. It is a stereo speaker setup, with enhanced sound which is a big update from the last two models.

Final Verdict!

You cannot compare this device with iPhone 13 Pro or Pro Max or Samsung S22 Ultra, because this device is leading over its own legacy. The iPhone and S22 are unbeatable when compare to different features whereas Sony Xperia 1 IV is perfect on its own path.
