God’s Favorite Idiot Update: A new comedy series is coming to Netflix with Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone, a couple in life, and on the TV series. The title is Stupid That God Loves.

Religion certainly plays a role in the building, as the main character is a prophet! The announcement of the new TV series kicks off in December 2020, but it took two years to develop the product and continue recording (unfinished).

We now know that the project was created by Ben Falcone and that Netflix has released 16 episodes, which should last about 30 minutes each and will be split into two parts.

Falcone is also the main producer and his wife Melissa McCarthy, is best known for her role as Sookie in the long-running TV series Una mamma for each friend. Steve Mallory re-joined as chief executive in 2021.

The protagonist of Idiot’s Favorite God is Clark Thompson, a peaceful computer expert who falls in love with his colleague Emily Luck. However, just as the relationship is flourishing and his life is going well, yet, Clark unexpectedly and unknowingly becomes a messenger from God.

He will be a very busy divine messenger, as the apocalypse and various other disasters approach the horizon. In order to carry out God’s great plan for him, the main character will have to cooperate with the angels and their companions and withstand the threats of Satan.

The cast of the TV series includes Yanic Truesdale (already seen in A mother for a friend) who plays the archangel Chamuel and Usman Ally who plays the role of Mohsin Raza, who will play Clark in the space war.

Ana Scotney (known as the Teacher Teacher) is Wendy, a very generous and helpful woman, while Chris Sandiford is a trustworthy but annoying Tom, a colleague in the technology department.

Other actors are Steve Mallory, who plays a low-level manager; Leslie Bibb, none other than Satan; and Kevin Dunn, who plays Clark’s father. Sixteen episodes of Netflix’s Official Favorite Idiot will be split into two blocks. The first season (covering eight episodes) is expected on the broadcast channel on June 15, 2022.
