Maisie Williams Remembers Her First Game Of Thrones Costume

Maisie Williams Update: “I suppose I resented Arya when I first started becoming a woman because I couldn’t communicate who I was becoming.”

For eight seasons, Maisie Williams portrayed renowned tomboy Arya Stark on Game of Thrones, but growing up in the spotlight was no easy chore. In a new interview, the actor discussed the advantages and disadvantages of growing up on stage.

She told GQ UK, “I don’t believe it’s good [to miss Game of Thrones] because I adored it.” “I have such good memories of it, and I am so proud of it.” But why would I want to be sad about the best thing that has ever occurred to me? I don’t want to link that to any negative emotions.”

Despite how much she enjoyed the trip, there were some challenging times. The first day Maisie wore a bra as part of her costume was a watershed moment for her. “I suppose I resented Arya when I first started becoming a woman because I couldn’t communicate who I was becoming,” she explained. “Then I loathed my body because it wasn’t in sync with the rest of me.”

She is much more at ease with herself now that she has moved out of London and into a new property in the country. She reminisced, “I didn’t tackle it until I moved here.” “The more I strived to be like her, the more I wondered, ‘Am I like her?’” The more I thought about it, the more perplexed I became. Now I just feel like I’m accomplishing all I want to accomplish at the time I want to accomplish it.”

“When I look in the mirror, I realize who I am.”

Despite the fact that Game of Thrones is no longer on the air, HBO continues to make spin-offs, and Williams has already returned to Arya in a video game.

Was she ever going to pick up the broadsword again? “I’m not saying it won’t happen, but I’m also not stating it in this interview so everyone thinks, ‘The spin-off!’” ‘It’s on its way!’ It isn’t, because it isn’t.

It has to be the right place at the right time with the right people. It has to make sense in the context of the other Game of Throne spin-offs and the larger Game of Thrones universe. For me, it needs to be the proper time.”
