Audiences have really been wondering who will fill the iron-suit-sized void in the MCU since Tony Stark died in Avengers: Endgame. Obviously, the first person who comes to mind is Don Cheadle’s War Machine, but he appears to put his identity under lock and key. The solution is a new forthcoming hero named Riri Williams, aka Ironheart, created by Dominique Thorne.
Will Ironheart’s Riri Williams debut in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever?
Ironheart’s debut appearance on television will not be as the main in her own Disney+ program, but instead in Black Panther 2. While Marvel’s CEO was prepared to confirm this, he has been tight-lipped about Dominique Thorne’s involvement as Riri Williams in the future sequel. Will Riri be a significant player? We will be able to meet her at what stage in her life? To what extent of her tale will be depicted in the film?
Her first appearance on the big screen prior to Disney+ foreshadows great things for her character, and fans are eager to learn more. Riri is a figure in the comics who built her personal Iron Man armor in her garage using an old, obsolete Stark suit & stolen components from the college campus. She goes on to be Ironheart, assisting Iron Man through Civil War 2, becoming a part of The Champions, & eventually becoming Queen of Latveria.
Fans should brace themselves for Riri to play a significant role in the MCU in the future. Riri’s participation in Wakanda Forever has much more to do with T’Challa’s outreach program, which he began at the conclusion of Black Panther. The project’s goal was to disseminate Wakanda’s sophisticated technology to the entire world.
Riri Williams is a neglected child prodigy, and Wakanda’s scientists may discover her brilliance and develop her powers, maybe by paying her M.I.T. tuition or granting her exposure to Wakandan tech because her brain is too developed for anything else. Similar to their connection in the comics, it’s easy to envision Shuri viewing Riri as an MCU protégé – definitely another exceptional scientific mind in such a gender-dominated sector. The pair may even dethrone Tony Stark & Bruce Banner as the “science sisters.
This foreshadows Riri’s superhuman makeover ahead of her debut on Disney+. The sequel to Black Panther reveals the person and describes how she obtains the technology required to make Ironheart’s armor. A post-credits sequence might show Dominique Thorne operating her outfit for the very first time, implying she’ll be an actual hero even by the time Ironheart arrives on Disney+.
Given everything else occurring in the movie, it’s doubtful that Wakanda Forever will go so far as to showcase Ironheart in full force, but Riri Williams’ presence on the big screen may at least project her origin story.
The MCU is getting into the habit of introducing new individuals in unexpected locations, especially with regard to the youthful Avengers. Yelena Belova was featured in Black Widow before her Hawkeye part, Ms. Marvel had her own TV program before her cinematic entrance in The Marvels, & WandaVision recounted Spectrum’s narrative before her scheduled arrival in The Marvels.
Villains are also joining in on the action, with Jonathan Majors’ Kang visiting Loki in advance of Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is a great opportunity in order to build the ground for Riri Williams’ Ironheart makeover.
This is the latest example of Disney flexing its multi-platform capabilities. Developing Ironheart’s origin narrative in Black Panther 2 is especially interesting since it keeps the beginning of the Disney+ program a total mystery. We’ve already seen her dressed. We recognize who she is. What will happen in the pilot of Ironheart for Disney+?
This was a brilliant move on Marvel’s behalf because those who are familiar with comics will have no idea. They’ll have to watch the Disney+ show to find out. Riri’s innovation might be anything that detects vibranium sites, given how cautious Wakanda is of its precious resource. If Wakanda’s resources run out and vibranium riches are discovered at the bottom of the oceans, the neutral nation may find itself at Namor’s door.
