Jane Foster Update: Thor: Love and Thunder is the most anticipated future film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, according to many fans. It is a sequel to New Zealand filmmaker Taika Waititi’s 2017 blockbuster Thor: Ragnarok, which was full of amazing graphics, action, and Waititi’s characteristic goofy comedy.
The appearance of Mighty Thor, though, is the film’s main selling point and the purpose fans are so excited about it. But, Not only will Chris Hemsworth play the Asgardian God of Thunder, but Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster will also adopt Thor’s identity and wield Mjolnir.
The MCU is rightfully regarded as one of the biggest success stories in Hollywood history, but it is far from flawless. The first few years were defined by behind-the-scenes strife, which had an influence on the films themselves at times.
For a time, it appeared like Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster had been written out of the MCU due to a dispute between the two, Portman and Marvel Studios. Fortunately, Marvel Studios now is not the same as it was in the past. Many of the concerns were rectified by an organizational change in 2015, and Natalie Portman is back in Thor: Love & Thunder.

Jane Foster in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has always been quite different from the persona in the comics. Jane in the comics is basically a nurse who worked side by side with physician Don Blake, a person who became enslaved to Thor Odinson.
In contrast, Jane Foster of the MCU is a well-known astrophysicist who was presented as one of the few scientists who were able to spot oscillations in the electromagnetic spectrum which were associated with the Bifrost.

Natalie Portman had already been seen on the Thor: Love and Thunder set, where she wears a considerably more rugged physique. However, this may be the first chance we get a glimpse of how she will seem as Thor.
Pictures purported to be promotional art have appeared on the internet. You may see how Hemsworth and Portman appear as God and Goddess of Thunder. Portman has stated that now the film will incorporate aspects of the well-known Mighty Thor narrative. “I can’t tell you that much,” she remarked last year in an interview with Yahoo. I’m quite excited. I’m starting to work out in order to gain muscle.
If all of these female superheroes can exist, the more of them around are, the better. I’m trying to remember — it’s based on The Mighty Thor comic novel. Now it’s unsure as to which narrative could have been opted for the story, the nurse angle or her undergoing cancer treatment alongside being a superhero.
How Does Jane Foster Get the Mjolnir in Thor 4?
Of course, the intriguing question is how Jane Foster would obtain Mjolnir in the first place. Thor’s hammer was smashed into bits by Hela in Thor: Ragnarok. According to rumors, Jane would wield a Mjolnir from some other timeline, which has been imported into this as a consequence of the Loki Disney+ TV series.
However, a new set video of Thor: Love & Thunder has revealed another fascinating possibility; it shows Jane visiting Odin’s monument, which also has the parts of Mjolnir on display. The woman is then seen moving around as though trapped in a windstorm. It’s possible that her presence — that is, her worthiness – causes Mjolnir to reconstitute.
Other Possible Powers Jane Foster Could Have
It will be interesting to see if Taika Waititi uses any of Mighty Thor’s unique skills from the comics. The Mighty Thor Run by Jason Aaron was famous for creating a new bond with Mjolnir and also its carrier, with the charming hammer revealing to contain a creature known as the God Tempest.
This ancient celestial power can hurt even the Phoenix Force, and it rushed over Asgard thousands of years ago, only to be defeated by Odin the All-Father.
Odin locked the God Tempest inside the chunk of Uru that was later fashioned into Mjolnir, but the creature refused to accept its confinement, nursing a vengeance against Odin and his family; this meant that Thor Odinson had never completely accessed the full power of Mjolnir.
Jane Foster v/s Gorr?
The only thing we know about Thor 4’s plot is that the movie stars, Christian Bale, as Gorr, God-Butcher. In the comics, Gorr felt the gods were worthless by nature and vowed to destroy them all, he had carved a bloody path across the universe, slaughtering innumerable pantheons until being slain by many versions of Thor summoned from across time.
There is no doubt that this story will be changed, but it is fair to presume that the core element will remain, simply because it fits in so well with the concepts of Jane Foster’s narrative and the concern of what it actually entails to be worthy.
If such is the case, Jane Foster’s Mighty Thor can provide a conceptual challenge to the adversary, merely since she is something incredibly different – a human who now has god-like powers.
She would challenge his categorization, causing him to reconsider his plans and decide whether to abandon them or increase them. Such a confrontation would undoubtedly provide an interesting new path for Thor: Love & Thunder.
