Karen Gillan Update: The work on Nebula makeup for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is still in progress, and star Karen Gillan has given fans a sneak peek at her latest Nebula look.

Karen Gillan shares a behind-the-scenes look at her Nebula makeup for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 with fans. Vol. 3 will be released in May 2023, completing James Gunn’s eccentric MCU trilogy that began in 2014 with Guardians of the Galaxy.

Though Gunn was briefly fired from the movie, his cast and fans rallied around him, prompting Marvel to rehire him as the film’s creative director. Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldaa, Dave Bautista, Pom Klementieff, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, and Karen Gillan will all return in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

The plot of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has so far been a closely guarded secret. However, it has been revealed that this will be the most emotionally charged installment yet, with a significant death. Will Poulter will join the MCU as Adam Warlock, and Peacemaker breakthrough Chukwudi Iwuji will portray a mysterious figure.

Filming on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is already underway, and fans have been given a few behind-the-scenes glimpses.

The most recent comes from Gillan, who reprises his role as the hushed cyborg Nebula. In honor of her team’s 100th application, the former Doctor Who actor revealed a few views of her makeup process for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 on her Instagram stories.

Gillan’s most recent photo shows a slightly blurred but still visible glimpse of her face in full Nebula form. And, based on the visible scratches, it appears that Nebula has lately been in a battle.

Gillan will not reprise her role as Nebula in the Marvel Cinematic Universe after Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. She, along with the majority of the GOTG cast, will star in Thor: Love and Thunder, which will be released this summer. They’ll also star in a Disney+ holiday special set to premiere later this year.

Because of the numerous projects planned before Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, predicting Nebula’s tale will be considerably more difficult than usual. However, the film is titled Gamora (Saldaa) and Nebula’s narrative by Howard the Duck voice actor Seth Green, so it’s possible that Gillan’s blue-skinned anti-hero will be suffering her deepest dramatic development yet.

Even if Gillan’s makeup for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is similar to her prior appearances, it’s nonetheless amazing to see her dressed as Nebula. Gunn has stated that this film will be the final installment for the existing cast, implying that moviegoers may see Gillan as Nebula for the last time.
