Anna Delvey Was Released From ICE Detention Today

Anna Delvey Update: According to a source who spoke exclusively to The Post, fraudster socialite Anna “Delvey,” Sorokin has been released and will be deported from the United States after nearly a year in ICE jail.

She is expected to fly to Frankfurt on Monday night, according to sources.

Sorokin, 31, is furious over her deportation, according to a close source, because she had filed an appeal to stay in the United States. The appeal was set to be heard on April 19.

On suspicion of overstaying her visa, she has been imprisoned at the Orange County Correctional Facility in Goshen, New York, since March 25.

According to sources, she’ll be on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast on Wednesday.

Last month, Sorokin and three other ICE detainees sued the federal government after receiving COVID-19 while in detention. In the Netflix hit “Inventing Anna,” Sorokin’s life and misdeeds are glamorized.

Sorokin tested positive for the virus on Jan. 19, weeks after submitting a written request for a follow-up vaccine shot that remained unanswered, according to the ACLU’s federal court filing.

ICE allegedly ignored the plaintiffs’ booster requests, interfering on their constitutional rights as medically vulnerable people, according to the lawsuit.

Sorokin arrived in New York City in 2013 with the intention of opening a high-end members-only arts club, but things swiftly spun out of control, according to her former defense attorney Todd Spodek.

She claimed to be an heiress named Anna Delvey. In the actual world, Anna Sorokin was born in Domodedovo, a working-class town southeast of Moscow. Vadim Sorokin, her father, was a truck driver, and her mother was the owner of a tiny convenience store.  When Sorokin’s family moved to Germany in 2007, he was 16 years old.

According to Sorokin’s best friend, Neffatari Davis, the fraudster “has a kind heart, but she has a horrible, twisted brain.”

She tricked new pals and numerous businesses, including some of NYC’s top hotels, out of $275,000 in cash over the course of a ten-month spree.

A Manhattan jury found her guilty of attempted grand larceny, three counts of grand larceny, and four charges of stealing services.

She was released on good behaviour on Feb. 11, 2021, after nearly four years in prison.

“They already told you I own this lawless f–king city,” Sorokin claimed on Instagram about her trip to New York in March. Her Instagram account also has photos of her drinking champagne from a claw-foot tub and having a good time.

“When ICE arrived for Anna, she had only been out for a few weeks,” Davis told The Washington Post last month. “She was a thorn in my side on Instagram… They were probably keeping an eye on her.

“They notified Anna that her visa had expired, but Anna vowed, “I’m going to fight this.” She was expecting a quick fight. If she had been a normal Jane and not in the media, I believe she would have been deported.”

According to Davis, Sorokin has already undergone enough punishment.

“She was discharged on good behaviour and repaid everyone with the money Netflix gave her; she owes no money,” Davis continued. “She was sentenced to prison for her crimes, although she did not kill anyone.” She made a blunder, but worse things have happened.”
