Sophie Skelton and Richard Rankin explore Brianna and Roger’s struggles in Season 6 of Outlander.

Season six of Outlander is almost coming, and fans are as as enamored with Fraser’s Ridge’s members as they were in season one, despite the fact that the family has grown quite a little since then! Claire and Jamie have formed a remarkable family since meeting through time, with their daughter, Brianna, and her husband, Rodger, joining them in their 17th-century life.

We’re excited to see what Season 6 has in store for our favorite time-traveling family, especially since the program is notorious for putting them in peril. Sophie Skelton and Richard Rankin, who play Brianna and Roger, joined us for a special Spotlight interview to cover everything that goes on behind the stone…

“I can see why Outlander’s peaceful time is too beautiful to be true,” Sophie, who has played Jamie and Claire’s red-haired daughter since season three, stated. ” However, after everything Bree and Roger have been through, this is the most calm season we’ll see them in, which isn’t saying much, but they’re settled now that they’ve decided to stay in the past.” They maintain a high level of consistency throughout the season, which is both fantastic and unusual!”

Bree and Roger are happy and content together in the new episodes, but despite their family’s expectations, they are having difficulty conceiving a second child – despite the fact that Bree has a lot on her mind as she begins introducing her keen engineering mind to the Ridge to make lives easier – and is disappointed by the response.

“Finally, Brianna begins to explain her engineering approach, beginning with matches – and knowing what staple matches will be – and it’s hilarious how unenthusiastic everyone is, saying things like, ‘We’ve never had trouble lighting a fire.’

Bree’s pregnancy is widely assumed, thus this is yet another obstacle for her. Her creations are growing increasingly gigantic.”

After giving up on trying to read the novels ahead of time, Richard and Sophie are astonished by each season. “The scripts have changed 20 times by the time you come to a season with flashbacks from other books or going back to past seasons, and you can’t recall what’s in them,” Sophie explained.

Despite the fact that the novel is set in the past and has a strange time travel element, there are issues that many modern women will understand, such as Bree and Roger’s inability to conceive. “I was delighted the writers placed that in there,” Sophie admits. “On Outlander,” I believe, “we deal with a lot of extremely authentic and timeless situations, and this topic isn’t really talked about, even among women now.” Brianna doesn’t even bring it up with her mother, a surgeon, indicating that it’s a taboo subject. Rather than wallowing in self-pity, I believe it helps couples work through their problems together.”

Meanwhile, what will Roger be doing in the following episodes? He had to deal with an especially entertaining predicament as a phony priest in episode two, and even Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe could be seen giggling behind the camera.

Richard commented, “It was amusing to film, and I don’t mind saying it was absurd.” That isn’t to suggest the screenplay or direction aren’t competent, but the situation is absurd to depict. Just the way it all unfolded and the conviction with which it was carried out, I don’t think anyone could keep a straight face “Behind the camera, I could see and hear Sam and Caitriona giggling. If they’re smiling behind the camera, you can’t take this seriously.” “Richard’s scars may still be seen!” Sophie exclaimed and laughed.

If Sophie and Richard venture through the stones and into the past on their own, we’re convinced they won’t last five minutes. Sophie proposed speakers when asked what they would bring back from the modern world, while Richard joked, “Can I bring a tank?” A true, contemporary tank for the twenty-first century. Especially now that a revolution is on the horizon. “All right, gentlemen, get inside my tank,” I’ll say. “Let’s combine the tank with the speakers – Back in Black ACDC!” After pointing out that bringing back speakers and a tank would almost certainly land them in jail for witchcraft, Sophie responded.

Sophie takes a more somber approach to the show’s heavier themes, stating that after watching it, a fan approached her with something extremely personal.
