Squid Game Achieved A New Milestone In The Screen Actors Guild Awards 2022

According to Netflix, it had over 1.65 Billion viewers in 28 days after its premiere back in September. The series reached a lot of milestones. Crossed a lot of records and build a lot of new ones.

Not only for movie critics, but the series also took social media by storm. But also it had a trending game and the reels of this series flooded Instagram. From teens to adults all know about the series. In 28 days of its premiere, this series marked itself as Netflix’s most popular title to date.

Well, the series now achieved a new milestone in film media history. The Squid Game lead actors both achieved SAG Awards 2022. As Lee Jung-jae and HoYeon Jung, both won Screen Actors Guild Awards 2022.

They sure made history by writing their names on Screen Actors Guild Awards list. As Lee Jung-jae and HoYeon Jung, both portrayed the leading roles in the Korean drama. Became first-ever actors winning SAG Awards despite being in a non-English language drama series. Also Squid Game won another award in another category.

Actor Lee Jung-jae, portrayed the character of Seong Gi-hun in the series Squid Game. He won an award from the category of Outstanding Performance By a Male Actor In a Drama Series. Lee Jung-jae’s appreciation speech and reaction just reflected how happy and excited he was about being one on the stage.

As he stated – “Oh my… Thank you so much.” He continued with – “This is truly huge that happened to me”. He added to his statement after taking a page out from his pocket – “I did write something but I don’t thing I’m gonna get through reading it”. Actor Lee Jung-jae concluded his speech by thanking the global audience for their support for the series. He didn’t forget to thank him team of the series.

After that, the actor HoYeon Jung, portrayed the character of North Korean refugee Kang Sea-byeok in the series Squid Game. She won an award from the category of Outstanding Performance By a Female Actor In a Drama Series. Although the series was her debut drama as an actress. She was a freelance model before that.

HoYeon Jung’s appreciation speech was a heart-touching and moving as ever. With some happy tears glistening to her eyes. She started – “First and foremost thank you so much”. She continued suggesting the stars present for the award show – “I have sat many a time watching you on the big screen, dreaming of one day becoming an actor”. She then continued in English – “Thank you for making my dream, and open the door for me.” The actress concluded her statement after exclaiming her love for the Squid Game crew.

Besides this Squid Game also won another trophy for the Outstanding Performance By A Stunt Ensemble In A Television Series category. By the end of 27th February night, the series had four nominees and the Squid Game won three of them.
