The film is set in the year 1990 in Denmark. It is basically an expedition that is governed by captain Ejnar Mikkelsen. Mikkelsen was trying to disapprove the claim of the United State towards northeastern Greenland.

It was a claim that says that Greenland was actually broken into two pieces in terms of land. Mikkelsen has left his crew behind in the ship and then he went further with one of his inexperienced crew members and among them is Ive Iversen.
