The Good Doctor Season 5 Part 2 Updates: Based on the South Korean series of 2013 ‘Good Doctor’, David Shore created an American adaptation of it with Freddie Highmore starring in the titular role.
The series revolves around Shaun Murphy. Murphy is a young surgeon who has savant autistic syndrome. He belongs to Casper of Wyoming which is a small city. Murphy has a troubled past in his home city. As a surgeon, he joins the renowned San Jose St. Bonaventure Hospital and settles in San Jose of California.
Though throughout his journey of being a surgeon in the hospital, he gets some unfriendly attitude for his autism from some of his co-workers, he also comes across people who treat him sympathetically.
The series premiered on September 25, 2017, and has already crossed five seasons. The fifth season got renewed in May 2021 and aired on September 27, 2021. ‘The Good Doctor Season 5 is bringing more episodes in 2022.
With Freddie Highmore in the titular role, the rest of the cast includes Hill Harper, Will Yun Lee, Christiana Chang, Paige Spara, Richard Schiff, etc who all have done a very good job. There are some new cast members too who have joined the series in season 5.

Freddie Highmore (Dr. Shaun Murphy):
The protagonist of the series Dr. Murphy is a brilliant surgeon whose savant autism caused a divided opinion among the hiring board members. Due to his savant abilities, he is capable of near-photographic recollection and noticing minute changes and details. But for his autism, he sometimes attracts unfriendly treatment from co-workers. He has a hard time bonding with fellow people.
Starring Dr. Murphy is the British actor acclaimed since his childhood filmographies. We remember Freddie from films like ‘Finding Neverland, ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, ‘August Rush’, ‘The Spiderwick Chronicles. Freddie received Critics’ Choice Awards for Best Young Performer twice consecutively.
This 30-year-old actor dated several actresses including Emma Roberts, Dakota Fanning before getting married to Klarissa Munz in 2021, whom he met in Cambridge.
Richard Schiff (Dr. Aaron Glassman):
CNNDr. Aaron Glassman has been acting like a mentor for Murphy since Murphy was fourteen years old. Throughout the season we see him as a good friend as well as a father figure for the autistic surgeon. He was the attending neurosurgeon of San Jose St. Bonaventure Hospital. He is also the president of it.
Dr. Glassman put his presidentship at risk for Murphy. Aaron is also seen to win over brain cancer and go through a troubled relationship with his wife. It is interesting that his wife is plated by the actor starring the role Richard Stiff’s real-life wife Sheila Kelly.
American actor Richard Schiff received Emmy for his role Toby Ziegler for ‘The West Wing’. The 66 years old doctor is married to Sheila Kelley since 1996 and he is the father of two children.
Hill Harper (Dr. Marcus Andrews):
CNBCDr. Marcus Andrews is an attending plastic surgeon of St. Bonaventure Hospital and also a board member of it. After Dr. Glassman stops being present, Dr. Andrews takes over the post. He has been defending Shaun from the beginning. After Lea’s miscarriage, he gives vastly emotional support to the couple.
Besides ‘The Good Doctor, the American actor Hill Harper is also known for his role in ‘CSI: NY’ and ‘Limitless’. Harper is also an author and wrote the book ‘Letters to a Young Brother: Manifest Your Destiny’ among others. The 55 years old actor has been in a relationship with musician Chloe Flower since 2012.
Paige Spara (Lea Dilallo):
Showbiz Cheat SheetLea is a free-spirited woman who has been Shaun’s friend and ex-roommate. She is one of the few persons who truly get to the heart and mind of Shaun. Shaun and Lea become romantically entangled and go through a lot since then.
Lea has an unfortunate miscarriage which leads to a period of grief for both of them. Though many fellow doctors help them coping with the situation, it strains the relationship of Shaun and Lea as can be seen in Season 4.
Paige Spara is remembered for starring the lead role in the sitcom ‘Kevin from Work’ as Audrey Piatigorsky. Much is not known about the 32 years old actress’ dating life.
Christiana Chang (Dr. Audrey Lim):
Indulge ExpressDr. Audrey Lim is in charge of the ER in San Jose St. Bonaventure Hospital where she is an attending trauma surgeon. Later she becomes the Chief of Surgery. Dr. Lim can be seen to grow PTSD in Season 4 after dealing with Covid 19 patients during the pandemic.
Taiwanese-American actress Christiana Chang starred in ‘CSI: Miami’, ’24’, ‘Nashville‘. The 50 years old actress married Soam Lall in 2010 and is the mother of one child.
In Season 5 of ‘The Good Doctor,’ some actors and actresses have joined the cast newly. They are Noah Galvin, Bria Samone Henderson, and Osvaldo Benavides.
