Young Wallander Season 2 Must Watch Series After Season 2

‘Young Wallander’ is back with a bang for its second season today, 17th February 2022. For those unfamiliar with the series, it is based on a popular Hennig Mankell franchise, which was originally made into a BBC series called Wallander. Season 1 of Young Wallander was a huge hit, especially in Sweden, where it spent 35 days in the top ten charts.

The new investigation will be more dynamic, intriguing, and captivating than the last one. Even as the second season progresses, the tale broadens as we learn more about Reza, Rask, Mona, and other characters.

There will be a new leader in charge of the major crimes unit, which will reintroduce Kurt Wallander into the fold. Season 2 will include six episodes once again.

1. Bordertown

Let’s start with something safe and Scandalous. For this first recommendation, we shift our focus from Sweden to Finland. In its native nation, this melancholy criminal knows Detective Inspector Kari Sorjonen as a decorated National Bureau of Investigation investigator.

Following a family tragedy, he relocates his family from Helsinki to Lappeenranta, a small Finnish/Russian border town where they may all live in peace and quiet. But things don’t exactly turn out that way.

Sorjonen is swiftly confronted by a vicious serial murderer with a startling link to the detective and his family. Bordertown is a somber, dark, and dramatic film. Broadchurch meets Twin Peaks, with a dash of Wallander thrown in for good measure. It’s also well worth a look.

2. La Mante

The ‘work’ of a notorious woman serial killer called ‘The Mantis’ is quickly developed as a tribute to a succession of gruesome deaths. With a nod to The Silence of the Lambs, the cops try to elicit The Mantis’ cooperation in tracking down her copycat.

She accepts, but only on the condition that Detective Damien Carrot is her point of contact. Her distant – and very emotionally scarred – son.

This terrible French thriller is made of only six episodes, so you can easily devour it in a weekend. It has mind games, family troubles, brutal slayings, high-speed chases, and plenty of red herrings. And we strongly advise you to do so.

3. Marcella

Marcella is dark, dramatic, and definitely binge-worthy. Anna Friel plays brilliant investigator Marcella Backland in this Nordic noir set in modern-day London. The authorities are on a never-ending and mind-boggling search for the culprit after discovering the corpse of a missing youngster.

Personal troubles, on the other hand, cease for no one, and Marcella’s has become much less of a mystery by the moment.

4. Fortitude

Fortitude is a three-season award-winning series that will keep you entertained. This chilling murder investigation takes place, of all places, near the Arctic Circle. But when a murder occurs in a tiny, seemingly safe town, it becomes evident that nothing in this close-knit society is as it seems. And then some.

5. The Frozen Dead

This gruesome French thriller begins with a stomach-churning find high in the Pyrenees. The decapitated body of a horse hangs from a freezing precipice. The inquiry quickly includes a jailed serial murderer, and the narrative thickens significantly.

The Frozen Dead is part of the new trend of superb France crime dramas that include La Mante and is stylish and even cinematic in tone. Again, the narrative and performances are excellent, but the frigid environment and cinematography set the movie apart from many of its contemporaries.

6. Broadchurch

The Guardian

Two investigators are brought together by a murder in a tiny town that turns out to be far more complicated than first appears. This British series, featuring Olivia Colman and David Tennant, is enthralling, and the acting is equally so.

7. Trapped

BBC

No one is safe in this Icelandic crime thriller, and there appears to be no way out. This series, which has already completed one season, is packed with suspense and shocks. Because it’s not just the bad people that detectives have to watch out for; they also have to watch out for the elements.

A ship full of passengers gets stranded in a rural town due to a blizzard. When a murder occurs, police are aware that the perpetrator might be anyone. That is anyone, locked there with them.

8. Before We Die

‘Before We Die‘ is a Sweden drama that depicts Hanna Svensson (Marie Richardson), a police officer with a bleak existence aggravated by her troubled connection to her son Christian (Adam Plsson).

When her co-worker Sven (Alexej Manvelov) vanishes without a trace, things go from bad to worse. With the exception of the spooky brilliant blind alleys and the profound humanness, this may be regarded as a hybrid between ‘The Killing’ and ‘The Bridge.’
