The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 4 Must Watch Series Before Season 4

The official teaser for The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’s upcoming fourth season has been released by Prime Video. The fourth season will premiere on February 18th, with two new episodes released every Friday for the next four weeks.

Midge has returned, and she appears to be edgier and more daring than ever. Midge lands a job where she has complete creative control. However, her dedication to her profession and the places it leads her causes a schism between her and her family and friends. The Rachel Brosnahan series debuted on Amazon Prime Video in March 2017.

The series has received praise for its acting, storyline, and directing. To date, it has won many Primetime Emmy Awards and Golden Globes in the categories of acting, lead actress, and writing.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is an optimistic addition to Amazon’s original programming, pushed by a light-hearted yet heart-breaking performance by Rachel Brosnahan.

Must Watch Shows Like ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’

Bunheads

Bunheads is tailor-made for you if you’re seeking that Palladino-specific combination of comedy and heart. Sutton Foster appears in Amy Sherman-post-Gilmore, Palladino’s pre-Maisel comedy as a former ballerina who, after hitting a snag in her life and career, begins teaching dancing to a bunch of quirky teenagers with the help of her mother-in-law (Kelly Bishop).

It’s a beautiful little weirdo of a series, full of Palladino-isms, charm, and some wonderfully crafted character arcs.

GLOW

Romper

If you’re looking for another historical story about women attempting to become famous, the amusing dramedy, set in the 1980s, GLOW, stars Alison Brie as Ruth, an unemployed actress who gets seduced into the over-the-top world of professional women’s wrestling.

Both GLOW and Mrs. Maisel are about women finding out their own individual paths in the show industry, and fans of Midge and Susie will enjoy Ruth’s reunion with her former best friend, Debbie (Betty Gilpin), after a tumultuous breakup. The show was unjustly canceled before it could finish its third season, but the three seasons it did receive were fantastic.

I’m Sorry

Midge is a wife and a mother, although these are essentially minor issues that don’t get in the way of her profession. I’m Sorry is a somewhat more realistic picture of what it’s like to be a working parent and a comedian.

Andrea (Andrea Savage) is a comedy writer who spends her time between her family — she’s married with a small kid — and her work. Whereas Mrs. Maisel is more plot-driven, I’m Sorry is more of a hangout show, with fast-paced humor.

Andrea, like Midge, suffers from the foot-in-mouth illness, which makes her uncomfortable interactions with others all the more amusing to observe.

Insecure

HBO

Without the hilarious and intelligent Issa Rae, who not only developed the HBO series but also stars as the main character, Insecure would be nothing. Rae considers herself to be an “awkward black girl” who still has to figure out what she wants and desires in life.

Rae, like Maisel, has high artistic ambitions and wants to be acknowledged for her abilities. The series is naturally appealing to the primary characters, who are all outrageously witty ladies from Issa’s group of acquaintances. You won’t want to miss any of them since they each have a distinct perspective.

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend

Slate.com

The CW’s Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, starring Rachel Bloom as Rebecca, is a fantastic musical-comedy series that is presently available on Netflix. This series is packed with wonderfully weird characters and amazing musical numbers that you’ll want to memorize because they’re so awesome.

This program is an underappreciated classic, and the ladies in it shine as both amusing and well-written characters. It’s a series that everyone should watch since it’s fantastic.

Fleabag

IMDb

Who wouldn’t want to watch a one-woman performance turned into a series? We think that’s fantastic! The protagonist, Fleabag, is a lady who is struggling to deal with following the death of her closest friend, Boo. Because of the loss of her best friend, she feels somewhat responsible and guilty, and she will never be the same.

Despite the serious theme, this British comedy succeeds in incorporating humor throughout the series in a perfectly balanced manner. Fans of Maisel will undoubtedly fall in love with Fleabag.

Weeds

Being a woman is difficult enough, but being a woman in the drug industry? Now that’s a terrible situation to be in. Nancy Botwin utilizes her feminine charms to her advantage on Weeds to get to the top of the drug business in a male-dominated sector.

This series is about strong-willed, headstrong women, who also happen to be hilarious, who are striving to find a sense of purpose in their dull and typical suburban town, created by Jenji Kohan, the genius creator. The series is a must-see.

Chewing Gum

Netflix

Chewing Gum is a Netflix hidden treasure full of laughter and heartfelt moments. Tracy, performed brilliantly by Michaela Coel, is as eccentric and outrageously goofy as a leading character can get, which is one of the reasons why this show is so wonderful from beginning to end.

On Chewing Gum, there is seldom a moment that isn’t filled with humor and charm. It’s a happy-go-lucky show that features hysterical and strong female characters. What more could you ask for from a show?
