Murderville Season 2 Must Watch Series Before Season 2

The American murder mystery TV Series ‘Murderville’ recently released on Netflix on February 3, 2022. The series is based on ‘Murder in Successville’ which is a BBC Three TV Show.

Each of the six episodes of ‘Murderville’ features a guest star as an inexperienced detective who has to solve a scripted murder mystery. But here is the twist- they have to do it without the script. That means they have to find their own way to solve the mystery.

Developed by Krister Johnson the series is a Netflix original. The six guest stars featured in the six episodes are Annie Murphy, Conan O’Brien, Ken Jeong, Kumail Nanjiani, Marshawn Lynch, Sharon Stone. The show achieved an 81% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Casts are impersonated as celebrities who reside in the fictional world of Successville. For instance, Alan Carr is a monster in Successville and Liam Hourican impersonates Chef Gordon Ramsay.

The show premiered on May 6, 2015, on BBC Three and ran till May 24, 2017.

The host in the fantasy plot of the series amidst the fictional aura of horror and murder mystery is referred to as ‘The Savant’ here. The Savant discovers himself in a historical estate. He invites several guest stats there to a party.

At the party, they have to impersonate various persons belonging to that era. The second season was set in the Victorian Era with guest YouTubers Andrea Russett, Tyler Oakley, Alex Wassabi, Gabbie Hanna, Tana Mongeau, Liza Koshy, DeStorm Power, Jesse Wellens, Lauren Riihimaki.

Cut off from all the connections with the modern era, they have to compete against each other through challenges like escape room puzzles and survive the night. Each episode ends with elimination through fictional death as the winner of winners returns back in the modern world. ‘Escape The Night’ premiered on June 22, 2016, and ran till September 4, 2019.

These three are obsessed with true-crime podcasts and when a suspicious death occurs in the building, they begin their own individual podcast about the investigation of the death which they deem as murder despite the police treating it as suicide. The series premiered on August 31, 2021.

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation-

The plot uses deduction and character-centric drama and focuses on a team of investigators employed by the Las Vegas Police Department. The team investigates the crime scene and uses that physical evidence to solve the murders.

Gill Grisson, played by William Petersen is a forensic entomologist who is socially awkward and leads the team with the help of Catherine Willows (played by Marg Helgenberger) who is Grierson’s second-in-command and also a single mother. The series first premiered on October 6, 2000, and ran for fifteen years till September 27, 2015.
