The Perfect Date is a 2019 American youth comedy film, directed by Chris Nelson starring Steve Bloom and Randall Green. Based on Steve Bloom’s novel The Stand-In, published by Carolrhoda Lab in October 2017.

Kissing Booth is a 2018 American youth comedy film written and directed by Vince Marcello, based on the 2012 novel of the same name by Beth Reekles.

Kissing Booth was released on Netflix on May 11, 2018, and was named the commercial success of the service, as it was highly regarded by subscribers, leading to the final production of the film trilogy. The film has been widely criticized by critics, who have taken the story and its themes for granted.

Next, The Kissing Booth 2, was released on July 24, 2020, and the third film, Kissing Booth 3, was released on August 11, 2021.
