2. Warrior

This series is again a Martial arts drama series. Making martial arts with the world of crime, this show revolves around, Ah Sahm, who is a martial art prodigy from China who comes to San Fransisco to find his lost sister and gets entangled in crimes.

This show was originally a brainchild of the late Martial arts legend Bruce Lee and honors his legacy besides upholding its own brilliance as a modern action series. Set in the time period of 1870, this show premiered on April 5, 2019, and ran for two seasons with Andrew Koji in the role of Ah Sahm.

3. Ip Man-

A romanticized portrayal of the life of a legendary teacher of a legendary student is worth watching as the tv series ‘IP Man’ reinvents the renowned film series of the same name starring Donnie Yen, a martial arts icon. In the series though Kevin Cheng honored the role.

IP Man is a grandmaster of Wing Chun, a traditional Chinese Kung-fu. Through illuminating the life of IP Man, the show dives into how the grandmaster passes on his knowledge to his most famous student, a potential legend Bruce Lee. With the aid of the spice of melodrama, this biography became showed promising success as it premiered on February 24, 2013.

4. Into the Badlands-

This tv show centers around a warrior and his young student in their journey through a post-apocalyptic feudal land named ‘Badlands’. While encountering barons and nobles and their selfish intentions, the teacher-student duo pass through their journey of mastering fighting skills as well as seeking spiritual enlightenment.

The first episode of ‘Into the Badlands’ was released on November 15, 2015, and it ran for three seasons with positive success. It also received acclamation in avoiding clichés involved in the fighting genre. Also, the Hongkong industry icon Daniel Wu starred in the lead role of the show which added another plus point to its review.

5. Wu Assassins-

After being bestowed with an ancient and unique power called “Wu Xing”, Kai Jin, a chef, now involved with San Fransisco’s Triad Gangs discovers that he is the latest “Wu Assassins”, a title that is passed on to various chosen heroes. The show follows Kai as he fights off various criminals holding similar powers but using them for selfish purposes.

‘The Raid’ famed Iko Uwais stars in the role of the protagonist Kai Jin aka Wu Assassin. This Netflix original action drama is a real treat for martial arts fans. It premiered on August 8, 2019.
