Microsoft Edge Makes It Easy to Follow Your Favourite Youtuber?

Published by

Tracking your favorite YouTube users with Microsoft Edge is now easier. Microsoft is testing its “web tracking” method in its Edge web browser. The latest Canary Build for Microsoft Edge has a new feature that allows you to easily follow your favorite YouTube channels.

A new addition to the Microsoft Edge Collections function was the first identified by REDITER / LEOPEVA642. They found the following on Reddit to highlight future features on both Edge and Chrome.

This latest feature is the YouTube tracking button, which appears in the address bar when you are on the YouTube page that you started following.

When that button is pressed, add a creator bookmark to the Edge Collections feature. It also creates a small feed for your collection, showing you the latest videos from the creators you follow.

It is still in its early stages of testing, as Microsoft only allows a button to track a small number of creators; For a limited number of Edge Canary users.

The current UI should work to get the feeds for YouTube users you are following. It does not appear immediately when you open the File menu. Appears only when you press the ellipsis menu button (three dots) if it is already archived, which is a little annoying.

Microsoft does not know where it wants to get it, so we will decide on it until it is released publicly.

Edge is now Chromium-themed, allowing for more modern browsers, and this new feature is similar to the “Follow” button that arrived on Chrome last year. Allows you to create your own feed to follow and browse any website.

It is not yet clear whether Microsoft plans to bring it to the wide web, allowing for a list of creators of custom social media or RSS feeds for your favorite websites.

Redditor Leopeva64 saw this for the first time when he saw a new tracking button appear in the Bing address area while browsing YouTube. Clicking the following button will add the user to the Microsoft Edge collection. When you add different creators to your collection, you can see their latest posts in the collection.

Canary is only in the developer category and is in the early stages of development as it does not support all YouTubers. Interestingly, Microsoft is running a tool that will help you easily find and track your favorite content.

The tracking button is a new program similar to RSS, but which follows YouTubers instead of bloggers or publishers. Google is also experimenting with users’ methods to track content creators directly in their browsers. Both companies are committed to ensuring that you can easily keep up to date with your favorite content creators.

There is currently no official information on when the new feature will be fully available to the public, but that may be temporary.

Microsoft Edge detection feature

KnowTechie

This feature is available in the latest version of Microsoft Edge’s Canary Developer Building and is only available to a limited number of testers. Reddit users have identified a feature and a new tracking button from the address bar on the Leopeva64 YouTube page.

This feature is similar to the Google Chrome test feature, which allows users to follow their favorite websites. So think of this feature as an extension of the Google RSS feed.

What is an RSS feed, you ask?

RSS is actually a simple auction, and the RSS feed is a file containing a summary of website-related updates. RSS feeds allow users to access the content of their choice in a standard, computer-readable format.

This feature is part of a Microsoft-controlled release that is only available on Edge Insider. You may hear more about the launch of this feature in the coming weeks.

Microsoft Edge

Microsoft Edge is a multimedia web browser developed and crafted by Microsoft. Launched in 2015 with Windows 10 and Xbox One, 2017 for Android and iOS, 2019 for macOS and 2020 for Linux and Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2 and versions latest. But unlike IE, this browser does not get along with Windows Vista or earlier versions.

Chromium Based Edge displaced Internet Explorer (IE) on Windows 11 as the default web browser (to integrate with  Google Chrome web browser).

Edge was originally built with a Microsoft EdgeHTML-based browser engine and their JavaScript engine, now known as Microsoft Edge Legacy.

In December 2018, Microsoft announced plans to redesign the Chromium-based browser with Blink and V8 engines. During development (renamed Anaheim), Microsoft made Edge Preview available for Windows 7, 8/8.1, 10, and macOS.
