Sony Pictures Movies On Netflix In 2022: Since the coronavirus outbreak has been carrying forward its tyrannical reign, as theaters all over the world have been mostly closed, filmaholics are mostly relied upon streaming services to watch a movie. Although on one hand, it’s unfortunate that the big screen adaptations are not being watched the way it is meant to be watched, on the other hand streaming media have made it possible for viewers to turn to a movie whenever they want. And the vast range of movies available literally always from literally every genre has turned the process of watching movies a lot easier.

To state an instant of how popular the streaming media have recently been and how rapidly they are growing the recent deal between Sony Pictures and Netflix should definitely be mentioned.

The five-year deal secures that all of Sony’s theatrical releases will be available exclusively on Netflix among which fall the upcoming spiderman movie ‘Spider-man: Into the Spider-Verse‘, Marvel movie ‘Morbius’, and video game adaptation ‘Uncharted’. The distribution deal with Netflix will only be effective after Sony’s current deal with Starz expires. With Starz, Sony had been streaming most of their movies for a long time.

Also, this deal is only for movies coming in 2022 and beyond. That is to say, ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ and ‘A Journal for Jordan’ will be excluded from the list. Also, ‘Hotel Transylvania: Transformania’ though is scheduled to release in January of 2022, will be skipped by Netflix as it has recently been sold to Amazon Studios.

Escape Room 2-

Theatrical release: January 7, 2022
The sequel of the 2019 ‘Escape Room’ which became a box office hit making Sony push to decide on a sequel soon. The 2019 movie revolved around a group of six people who were completely stranger to each other. All of them were invited to take part in a complex escape room which eventually turned deadly.

The 2022 movie follows its prequel is being directed by Adam Robite and starring Taylor Russell and Logan Miller. New cast members are Isabelle Fuhrman, Thomas Cocquerel, Hollan Roden, Carlito Olivero, Indya Moore. The movie can be expected to be streaming on Netflix in Fall 2022.

Morbius-

After the huge success of ‘Venom’, the Marvel franchise contributes one more potential hit for Sony- ‘Morbius’. The title finds its source in the scientist Michael Morbius who is attempting to cure his peculiar blood disease and accidentally turns himself into a vampire.

Though we saw it’s trailer in January 2020, the release date was delayed for Covid 19 pandemic. The story of the living vampire, starring Jared Leto, will be found on Netflix in Fall, 2022.

Uncharted-

Theatrical release: February 2022
Tom Holland is now not only the face beneath the Spider suit, but he will also be seen to star as a roguish treasure-hunter in Indiana Jones’ style. Sony’s new release ‘Uncharted’ is the adaptation of the popular action-adventure game of the same name where Tom is playing the lead role of Nathan Drake.

His co-stars are Mark Wahlberg, Antonio Banderas, Tati Gabrielle, Sophia Taylor Ali, etc. The movie will tell about the origin story of the game. After a major delay and a lot of release date postponing, it’s finally going to be released this February and hopefully, the viewers will get to watch it on Netflix in late 2022.

Bullet Train-

Theatrical release: April 8, 2022
On a Japanese bullet train, five assassins find out their individual assignments are entwined with each other.

This David Leitch directed action-thriller movie will present to us an exciting cast with Sandra Bullock, Joey King, Andrew Koji, Lady Gaga, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Brad Pitt in the lead role. Subscribers are expected to be able to watch the movie on Netflix in December 2022 or January 2023.
