Kristin Davis Admits To Feeling Stressed Over Aging

Kristin Davis, who will turn 57 next month, confessed in a new interview that she is concerned about aging, particularly when it comes to resuming a role she has portrayed on and off for the past 24 years.

In a New Beauty cover story, the And Just Like That… star said, “It can also be quite distressing to be aging and to be compared to your much, much, much younger self.” “If I came from a normal life, I’d be OK; I’d be fantastic!” I’m healthy, strong, and I have a three-year-old son, whom I carry about and everything is OK – but no, I’m on television, where every inch of my physical being is scrutinized.”

The Emmy nominee continued by saying that it’s always been “stressful and tough” for her to believe she looked “amazing” in her early Sex and the City days, even when she didn’t. “I have bad days,” the television personality admitted. “I have days where I genuinely want to bury my face in a basin of ice like Joan Crawford.”

“[Creator Michael Patrick King] is a very much, ‘Listen, none of us are attempting to re-create our former selves,’ Kristin continued. Charlotte retains her previous style, but she is now 55, as we saw in the first episode, and it is a continuing saga.” She went on to say that as she’s gotten older, she’s discovered a slew of other benefits. “Some [things] are excellent, such as wisdom, feeling grounded, life experiences, and other wonderful things, but there is also stressful stuff.”

The mother-of-two also spoke of experiencing “severe body tension” when she was younger. “I’ve always been self-conscious about my appearance. I’m not sure why I did it, but I did. I was walking home from set one day, back when we first started filming, and I stopped at the corner bodega to purchase some M&M’s, which is my go-to stress food.

“I can’t sell these to you,” the woman behind the counter remarked as I approached the register to pay. I expected her to say she was joking, but she didn’t, so I left that bodega and went down the block to the next bodega, where I bought four large bags of M&M’s and ate them all.”

The 56-year-old has previously discussed her self-consciousness over her appearance in an interview with NewBeauty. She expressed her dismay and anger over internet remarks regarding how she and co-stars Sarah Jessica Parker, 56, and Cynthia Nixon, 55, appear now in a Dec. 12 interview with The Sunday Times Style Magazine.

“Everyone wants to comment on our hair and our faces and our this and that, whether they like it or not,” she told the site. “It was shocking how intense it was.”
