In the Crown Season 5, Netflix has released the first official photographs of Dominic West and Elizabeth Debicki as Prince Charles and Princess Diana. The drama was first released in 2016 and has backed a lot of awards including the Emmy Awards. From the late 1940s to 1990, the series had the first four seasons covered almost multiple decades.
Imelda Staunton (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Downton Abbey) will follow Claire Foy and Olivia Colman as Queen Elizabeth II, with Jonathan Pryce, Lesley Manville, Jonny Lee Miller, and Olivia Williams as Prince Phillip, Princess Margaret, John Major, and Camilla Parker Bowles. Recently Netflix has released the first look they have given for Charles and Diana. They are portrayed as deeply unhappy couples as from the first image.
Netflix wrote, “Our new Prince Charles (Dominic West) and Princess Diana (Elizabeth Debicki).” While both West and Debicki are well-known actresses in their own right, they have huge shoes to fill after Josh O’Connor and Emma Corrin’s performances as Charles and Diana in season 4.
“The Crown” has a good fan account and fanbase, and crazy fans are eagerly waiting for the release of the next season. Given the season’s 1990s setting, it’s safe to assume that Charles and Diana’s strained relationship will continue to be a prominent narrative theme in future episodes. It won,t be the only source of drama because it’ll be surrounded by a star-studded ensemble as the remaining royal family and its inner circle.
After the filming was cut short of season 5, the showrunner also planned for the Christmas Break.
The filming of The Crown Season 5 will be starting again in January, the confirmed date is not revealed yet, however, we are hoping the season 5 will start filming soon.
There are also rumors that the fifth season will return with the new cast member including. Imelda in the role of Queen Elizabeth, Jonathan Pryce in the role of Prince Philip, Lesley Manville in the role of Princess Margaret, Dominic West in the role of Prince Charles, Elizabeth Debicki will be returning as Princess Diana, and Olivia Williams will return as Camilla Parker Bowles.
The Crown Season 5 will release in November 2022.
