Fantastic Beasts 3 Updates: Is it just me, or does anybody else remember Jude Law as a young Dumbledore? We all remember because on December 13th, the new trailer for the highly anticipated next Wizarding World film Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore debuted. Because it’s such a visual treat, here’s a rundown of what we can see:
The events of The Crimes Of Grindelwald are continued in this film. Gellert Grindelwald is back, with a new face but the same mission: to bring the Wizarding World out of the shadows and establish control over muggles.
Queenie Goldstein, who betrayed her sister Tina and her love Jacob to join him and now appears to be much more evil than before, and the more powerful obscurus Credence are at his side.
Fans may recall that we learnt that Credence is reportedly Albus Dumbledore‘s long-lost brother, Aurelius Dumbledore, in the final moments of the previous film. In the trailer, Albus finally meets his younger brother and engages in full-fledged magical combat on the streets of London.
However, before he does so, he reunites with his other wandering brother, Aberforth, played by Richard Coyle from Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. Newt Scamander and his brother Theseus; Newt’s helper, Bunty; the late Leta Lestrange’s half-brother Yusuf; an Ilvermorny instructor; and Jacob Kowalski are among the members of his brother’s team fighting the black wizard.

In the trailer, this odd group of heroes meets near-impossible difficulties, including Grindelwald’s growing army and some gorgeous but terrifying monsters. The things we didn’t see, on the other hand, stood out the most for fans (like myself). Tina, where are you? Isn’t Queenie only in one scene?
Furthermore, muggles are unable to see Hogwarts, even if they are standing just in front of it, because to muggle repealing wards, as per canon. Only a heap of rubble will be visible to them. So, is Jacob a wizard, or are we just breaking the rules? Who knows? After all, he’s receiving a wand. Plus, I’m quite sure Albus had no idea of the Room of Requirement, and now we’re using it to use portkeys to get out of the castle? I’m baffled! It’s possible, however, that it’s just me… IN ANY EVENT
In the latest instalment of the franchise, which is set to hit theatres in April 2022, Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne returns as Newt Scamander, alongside Katherine Waterston as Tina Goldstein, Dan Fogler as Jacob Kowalski, Alison Sudol as Queenie Goldstein, Ezra Miller as Credence, and Callum Turner as Theseus. Jude Law’s Albus Dumbledore, as well as his friendship with the evil Gellert Grindelwald, will surely be the centre of attention in the film.
For the third time, Dumbledore’s opponent and hidden previous love will be played by a new actor. After Colin Farrell and Johnny Depp, Mads Mikkelsen will take over the role, and the trailer is the first time we see him in full costume. After his legal struggle with ex-girlfriend Amber Heard reached a climax, Johnny Depp was removed from his role as Grindelwald for the entire series of sequels.
The year 2022 will be a watershed moment for Harry Potter lovers. Along with the new film, the original franchise’s stars will gather on New Year’s Day to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the first film. In the first sneak preview of the reunion special, Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint reunited for the first time since the premiere of the last film, Deathly Hallows – Part Two, in which a slew of other stars who participated in the eight films will also return.
