Caitlyn Jenner Updates: Caitlyn Jenner wishes she and her ex-husband Kris Jenner were “closer” following their 2013 divorce. On Monday’s episode of Big Brother VIP, the 72-year-old Keeping Up with the Kardashians star said that she and the mother of her kids Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner “could be better.” Caitlyn Jenner got honest with one of her fellow houseguests in a videotape acquired by The Daily Mail from the show.

“Our connection, in my opinion, is not as good as it should be,” she stated of Kris, 66. “I don’t hold any grudges against her. We performed a fantastic job, and so forth. I wish it were closer, but it isn’t.” Caitlyn responded, “I believe that’s an understatement,” when asked if Kris had “misgivings” about her, but immediately added that their relationship is “OK.” “But,” she continued, “it’s not — I think it could be better, just because of the kids.” “When you have that, it’s always like that. It all comes down to how well the mother and father get along. Is it simple and pleasant when they see each other? Is there any tension in the room?”

After 22 years of marriage, Caitlyn and Kris announced their separation two years before the former Olympian came out publicly as transgender in 2015.

While Kris was supportive of Caitlyn’s transition, the I Am Cait star’s memoir, The Secrets of My Life, was published in 2017 and caused a rift in the Kardashian-Jenner family.

Caitlyn Jenner stated in the book that Kris knew more about her intention to transition than she had previously claimed, and Kim Kardashian afterward accused her of omitting the chapters regarding her mother from the advance copy of the book she was given to read before its release.
