Chrissy Teigen Updates: Chrissy Teigen wore a purple sari while celebrating Diwali with Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas alongside John Legend.
This year, Chrissy Teigen went all out for Diwali. To celebrate the annual festival of lights with husband John Legend, the cookbook author, 35, wore a brilliant purple sari from Indian fashion company Papa Don’t Preach. On Thursday, Nov. 4, the two celebrated the five-day holiday with Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas.
Chrissy’s sari was embellished with opulent gold and pink embroidery. John, 42, looked great in an all-black ensemble for the occasion, wearing a coat that resembled a sherwani. “What a great holiday!” she posted a photo of them on Instagram. “Have a wonderful Diwali!!!”
For the evening, the model wore a second sari in beautiful colors of pink, gold, purple, and blue. Papa Don’t Preach also designed the gorgeous ensemble.
Chrissy also tweeted a boomerang video from the event, praising the hosts, Priyanka Chopra, 39, and her husband Nick, 29. She captioned the photo, “Happy Diwali to everyone who celebrates!!” “Thank you @priyankachopra and @nickjonas for having us!! We adore both of you!”
Priyanka and Nick hosted a Diwali celebration at their Los Angeles home, and Chrissy and John were among the attendees. On Friday, Nov. 5, Priyanka uploaded a series of photos from the celebrations on Instagram. “It was our first Diwali together in our first home.”
“This one will always be unique,” she wrote in the caption. “I’d like to express my gratitude to everyone who worked so hard to make this evening so memorable. You made me feel like I was back home by honoring our home and my culture by not just dressing the part but also dancing the night away.”
“And to the best spouse and partner @nickjonas, you are the stuff dreams are made of,” she continued. I’m in love with you. My heart is overflowing with gratitude.” Nick also posted a celebration video from the evening to his Instagram account.
The singer captioned the photo, “Sending you all love and light.” “I’ve learned about so many amazing Indian celebrations and traditions thanks to my lovely wife.” My heart is overflowing with joy at the prospect of sharing this with our friends and family.”
The religious festival represents fresh beginnings and the triumph of light over darkness. While it is an annual holiday, the dates are determined by the lunar calendar and change every year. Diwali is a Hindu, Jains, Sikh, and Buddhist festival that takes place in October or November and is observed by Hindus, Jains, Sikhs, and certain Buddhists.
