Kevin Feige Updates: Joe Russo the co-director of Avengers: Endgame said that Kevin Feige wanted the original six Avengers characters to die in the movie.
From a behind the scenes book The Story of Marvel Studios: The Making of the Marvel Cinematic Universe written by Paul Terry and Tara Bennett, Russo said that “Kevin’s initial pitch was that it was ‘Toy Story 3’ — a ‘they’re all gonna jump into a furnace together’ concept.”
The author of the book and directors Anthony Russo and Joe didn’t really show their favor for Feige’s concept as the story won’t celebrate the beloved superheroes. It would have been quite heartbreaking for the fans to process their beloved character’s loss too.
