X-Men: Tom Hardy takes on the role of Wolverine in the Marvel Cinematic Universe

Tom Hardy Updates: The X-Men are set to make their debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We have no idea when or how it will happen. But we do know that it will happen and that it will most likely happen soon.

If two recent reports are true, we might see the X-Men and Wolverine appear in two separate franchises. Of course, we must take rumors with a grain of salt, but they are nonetheless quite fascinating.

Marvel is set to move forward in the next part of their shared universe with some long-awaited additions, and we’re not only talking about Phase Four, thanks to the Disney/Fox merger and the following announcement of the long-awaited MCU Fantastic Four movie.

The topic of who will play the claw-wielding mutant Wolverine has yet to be answered by Marvel Studios. It’ll be difficult to find a replacement for Hugh Jackman (who played the character for the entirety of Fox’s two-decade-long X-Men franchise). The peerless Tom Hardy, on the other hand, would definitely be more than capable of giving it a shot.

JPH Photoshop, a digital artist, shared an incredible piece of artwork showing Tom Hardy as Wolverine/Logan on Instagram. The amazing image shows the actor dressed in a comic-accurate yellow and black ensemble that also includes the character’s iconic mask, which was missing from the Fox rendition of the character.

It goes without saying that if this design appeared in the MCU, comic aficionados would be overjoyed.

Is Tom Hardy playing Wolverine in the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

There is no word yet on who will play Wolverine. Tom Hardy has topped several fan-casting lists over the years, but his status as another Marvel character in another film may make him unlikely to play Wolverine. Another factor that may make it less plausible is the idea of Hugh Jackman returning as Wolverine in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as recent evidence suggests.

Hardy has been in a number of comic book and superhero films. After all, he co-starred alongside Christian Bale in The Dark Knight Rises as the terrifying Batman villain Bane, and he also plays the eponymous character in Sony’s Marvel series Venom, most recently in the highly anticipated sequel Venom: Let There Be Carnage.

Hardy is a wonderful actor who is capable of portraying larger-than-life characters to the film, and if he were to reprise his role as Wolverine in the MCU, he would definitely do it all over again.
