Jason Momoa Reveals His Aquaman 2 Injuries

Aquaman 2 Updates: Jason Momoa has recently revealed the difficulties of “an aging superhero.” The Game of Thrones actor, who plays Aquaman in the new movie Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, spoke on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Monday. There he opened up about the injuries that he sustained while filming Aquaman 2.

When DeGeneres asked about the long-running rumor that he’d hurt himself on the movie set, Momoa merely laughed, “I’m getting old, that’s what’s happening,” before revealing that he sustained several injuries during the shooting.

Momoa claims that his eyes were damaged up and is going to have to have surgery soon. He also confessed to having a hernia and also has a few of his ribs out. Although the actor stated that he is “just getting beat up,” he hinted that the movie will be a great movie that everybody is going to love.

Momoa’s injuries on the Aquaman 2 set are only the most recent in a long line. The actor got injured several times, both on and off the movie set. In an Instagram post previously this year, Momoa talked about his injuries.

There he explained the challenges of late-night shooting and his previous injuries affecting him. Momoa said in the post that he had a broken femur when he was little.

Momoa also recently disclosed that he received his signature brow scar a decade earlier after being smacked in the eye with a pint glass, requiring 140 stitches.

When Momoa arrived on her show, DeGeneres couldn’t ignore his injuries. She said to the actor, “that’s a rough job you got there. Every movie you’re on, you’re hurting yourself.” To which Momoa says,  “I just kind of give it, yeah.” He also added that he loves his job and, gets a little too excited about it.

Then talking about the age factor, he goes on to say, “I’m an aging superhero right now.”
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is releasing on December 16, 2022.

The movie cast includes Momoa, Amber Heard, Patrick Wilson, Dolph Lundgren, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Temuera Morrison.

The director of the film James Wan previously revealed to Total Film that it is very much inspired by Planet of the Vampires, an Italian sci-fi/horror film from 1965. The film will be the newest entry in the DC Cinematic Universe.
