Debra Messing Updates: Debra Messing, 53, is talking about a contentious remark about Kim Kardashian, 40, and her Saturday Night Live hosting debut. The actress asks, “Why Kim Kardashian?” in her tweet, which she made on Sept. 22 after the word of the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star’s appearance revelation. And Debra is now clarifying that she didn’t want to “troll” anyone when she wrote it.

She stated during a visit to the Tamron Hall Show that she didn’t mean to troll her. And she regrets if anyone took it the other way.  She went on to say that it was never her aim to do so. Debra also said that Kim is a cultural icon, a phenomenon.

Debra went on to say that she grew up watching SNL. She also enjoys humor, and SNL has had this technique for decades. And that she observed a change in that technique.

So she then thought to herself, if Kim is in a new TV program, or if she is publishing a book? Or if she is in a film? According to Debra, Kim’s television show had just finished, so she was puzzled.

Debra went into greater depth on why her tweet, which referred to Kim as a “cultural icon” and indicated that SNL presenters are typical “performers who are there to promote a film, TV show, or album launch,” was worded in the manner it was.

Debra further added that she was watching her and felt she was fantastic. Debra said that she was also rooting for Kim. She also said that her followers know that she consistently supports women.
