Thank you to everyone in the world for thinking of her and loving her from afar. I received phone calls from people all over the world who wanted to interview her or do a biopic of her life. She was very picky.”

Steel’s other credits include the Hallmark Channel original movie Christmas Wishes & Mistletoe Kisses and Jumanji: The Next Level, in addition to Black Panther.

Butler concluded her statement by writing, “According to Ms. Dorothy, I should inform everyone that arrangements and flower delivery locations will be posted on Facebook. She was still directing my actions. That was my Ms. Dorothy……..WAKANDAFOREVER.”

It’s unclear whether Steel will appear in the sequel, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. This is the film’s second setback in less than a year. Chadwick Boseman, the film’s lead actor, died in 2020 after a battle with colon cancer. There are plans to pay tribute to Boseman in the sequel film. There has been no word on whether Steel will be treated similarly.
