Venom: Let There Be Carnage: How Eddie and Venom Will Face The Villian

Venom: Let There Be Carnage Updates: Hell, it’s not like the original film ended up being obscured anyway, but ever since we saw the captions in it, Venom: Let There Be Carnage doesn’t stop relying on Tom Hardy’s role as Eddie Brock and Venom Symbiote, to the point that the two are described as romantic, bizarre or otherwise.

The latest is from Let There Be Carnage director Andy Serkis, in a feature released by Sony today with a clear focus on Venom’s relationship with Eddie in this new movie. Sure, footage especially the confusing morning shenanigans had been in the trailers, but still!

Seven Year Itch is left out of the name, they are a couple of exotic paintings, they are talked about as if they had been partners for years and years, and little about the nature of the relationship of predatory criminals. “It’s a relationship cycle,” the director said. “You have two characters that are literally stuck.”

Indeed, it’s kind of fun with the way Sony has recently embraced the fact that there’s more to Eddie and symbiote than their physical connections, even though it’s still a lot more playful and a little bit of a way a certain Venom fandom piece might choose.

We may get gags and odd comparisons from time to time in romantic couples, but hey: maybe with Venom 3 we’ll be ready to turn this franchise into a full rom-com action-adventure the way big movies can be if they weren’t so cowardly about God.

At least, it’s good to know that there is someone out there in Sony Pictures listening to fans. Venom: Let There Be Carnage beats theaters on September 30 – stay tuned for io9 to get the most out of the film crew this week.
