The Suicide Squad Trailer Revealed Nathan Fillion Weapons

Published by

The Suicide Squad Updates: A new Suicide Squad clip has been released which sees TDK help the squad get out of a sticky situation by dispatching his arms to do the job.

Director James Gunn had recently said that he wants to keep The Suicide Squad alive, visceral and real, but as his track record goes the film is sure to have some level of absurdity. The truth of the fact can be seen in the latest clip from the movie.

In the clip, we see that the Suicide Squad is stuck in the midst of a gunfight on a beach. To get them out of this sticky situation TDK aka The Detachable Kid is deployed. Amongst the very intense gunfight, TDK makes his entrance and proceeds to detach his arms from his shoulder like a toy action figure and send them off to the enemies.

It looks like the floating arms would make a huge impact but in a very ironic turn of events, they just manage to mildly slap the opponent’s helmets and guns.

TDK is Gunn‘s original creation along with Ratcatcher 2. These two characters are the only characters that are not from the DC comics. However, TDK shares abilities with the Legion of Super-Heroes reject Arm-Fall-Off-Boy.

This won’t be the first time that Nathan Fillion will be playing a ridiculous superhero for comedic effect. One can remember him as Captain Hammer from Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog or for his voiceover role of Green Lantern in Robot Chicken. Fillion was also set to star in Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy 2 but his part was later cut off.

Casting Fillion as TDK in The Suicide Squad was probably Gunn‘s way of making good with Fillion.

Collider’s character explainer for TDK stated that his death odds were at a high but now seeing his ridiculous abilities, his death odds have increased even more. It won’t be surprising if his utterly ridiculous ways get him killed off. All questions will be answered when Suicide Squad releases on August 6. The movie will get a theatrical release and will also release on HBO Max.
