Angelina Jolie Updates: In 2016 September, Hollywood couple Brad Pitt and Angeline Jolie decided to get divorced. Since then, a heated battle has been going on between them on taking over the custody of their 5 children.

The next stage of this case took place on July 9, where Angelina Jolie’s lawyer Robert Olson argued that Judge John W. Ouderkirk is working with Brad’s lawyer and the state of impartiality is not present in this regard. Robert wanted Judge John W. Ouderkirk to be removed from this case as he was working with the opposite party’s lawyer.

The court was convened for remote appellate from both parties where they argued about getting the custody of 5 children (Except Maddox Jolie Pitt, 19). Robert argued that the Judge was not impartial as he was allegedly working with Brad’s lawyer. He wanted the judge to be removed from this case immediately. This is the reiteration of Angelina’s request which was denied last November.

Brad’s lawyer Theodore Boutrous claimed that Angelina was well aware of this potential conflict.

In an interview, a family law attorney Kelly Chang Rickert claimed that Angelina may be fighting a losing battle. Kelly said that if Angelina was granted sole custody over their children, she would not have filed this appeal.

She also said that Angelina would not also challenge his ruling as biased. Rickert believes that Angelina is afraid of losing this battle and that is why she taking such an extreme measure to win.

Kelly also points out that this type of case is common where both parties keep on fighting until their kids are grown. When kids are grown and became 18, they are adults and they no longer come under the jurisdiction of the court.

We can note that Brad and Angelina’s eldest son Maddox is a legal adult and he was not subjected to the custody decision. Whereas Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Vivienne, and Knox are still under 18 and are subject to the custody of their parents.

At the end of May, Brad was given joint custody over their kids. However, Angelina is still fighting for sole custody of their kids.
