Well, we won’t give any assumed answers to these questions. Here, is the actual statement of Richard Wheatly. In a recent conversation with ET, he expressed his point of view about why a villain role player is getting so much affection rather than gathering hatred.

“Sometimes these characters come along and they just take over… And you get out of the way. So, there’s something about this character that’s just so fulfilling for me. And then, of course, the audience is responding because you’re so into it. It’s infectious.”

One thing was also clear that such a strong character will not stay behind Bars for a long period. So in the second season, the makers have cleared this confusion for all the fans. The series would have turned tasteless if the villain character didn’t come back for the second season.

“I think it’s going to be a barn-burner. I think he’s going to go nonstop. I mean, this is a guy who is plotting, who is scheming, who is doing push-ups all day long and getting ready to get out [of prison].” said Richard Wheatly about the come back of the villain role in the series.
