Captain Marvel 2 Filming Started: Will we see Samuel L. Jackson in the sequel?

Captain Marvel 2 Updates: Marvel’s planned sequel to 2019’s Captain Marvel, The Marvels, is already in development. Samuel L. Jackson announced the news on Instagram, alongside a shot of Nick Fury’s trademark facial hair from the shoot.

Jackson’s caption reads, “Guess what time it is.” “I’m back in the box, just in time for The Nick!” Aside from the delightful puns, the postmarks Jackson’s first appearance in the film after his pivotal role in Captain Marvel.

Star In an interview with Sirius XM on Tuesday, Brie Larson revealed that filming has begun, but Jackson’s tweet is the first look behind the scenes. Larson is particularly taken aback by the production’s scale.

Carol Danvers is played by Brie Larson, while Monica Rambeau is played by Teyonah Parris. Parris originally played the character in the successful Disney+ series WandaVision, however, the character was first featured in Captain Marvel as a toddler, played by Akira Akbar.

They’ll also be joined by newbie Iman Vellani, who will play Kamala Khan in the upcoming Disney+ series Ms. Marvel, which will premiere later this year.

Nia DaCosta, whose highly anticipated Candyman (which also stars Parris) will be released on August 27, is directing the picture. Megan McDonnell, a writer for WandaVision, wrote the script.

While Marvel has been tight-lipped about the film’s narrative, Velvet Buzzsaw actress Zawe Ashton was confirmed as the villain in February, but her specific role is still unknown.

The Marvels isn’t set to premiere until late 2022, but in the meantime, MCU fans can look forward to a slew of new Disney+ series, including What If…?, which premiered this week, Hawkeye and Ms. Marvel, and a slate of upcoming films like Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Eternals, and the multiverse-hopping Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Ms. Marvel will launch in late 2021 on Disney+. On November 11, 2022, The Marvels will be released in cinemas.
