Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 Rumors and New Updates

Published by

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 Updates: The second part of Final Fantasy VII Remake will be larger than the first, covering more of the globe outside of Midgar’s bounds in an open-world style. Last month’s FF7 INTERmisson DLC, which put players in the position of the brave-yet-quirky ninja Yuffie as she seeks to steal Shin-“Ultimate Ra’s Materia,” gave fans a taste of what’s to come.

INTERmission, according to Final Fantasy 7 Remake co-director Naoki Hamaguchi, will build up the plot for the next main FF7 Remake episode, with Yuffie and fellow Wutai member Sonon’s team-up techniques being one of the elements that might carry over.

There were also a few intriguing allusions at the broader Final Fantasy 7 extended world, such as a cameo appearance by Weiss and Nero from Dirge Of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII, that Hamaguchi intends to dig more into as the FF7 Remake series progresses.

Meanwhile, the first episode of Final Fantasy 7 Remake kept Cloud and his companions mostly limited to Midgar, but in an interview with IGN, Naoki Hamaguchi indicated that the next chapter may venture out. “Our next task will be to design gameplay that utilizes the immensity of the universe,” he said, adding that “the next edition will include Cloud and company leaving Midgar and exploring the realm.”

FF7 Remake Part 1 was intentionally designed in contrast to the rest of the series, according to Hamaguchi, and FF7 Remake Part 2 may offer an open environment for Cloud and his pals to explore.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 Rumors

Insider Paper

Hamaguchi’s statements are consistent with how the original Final Fantasy 7 story unfolded, with the player’s party being greeted with a large overworld map after escaping Midgar early in the game – something that was covered and expanded upon in the first Final Fantasy 7 Remake part last April.

Tetsuya Nomura, the creative director of the FF7 Remake, has also stated that the upcoming game would have more different settings for Cloud and the crew to explore as they chase down the nefarious Sephiroth, stating that they will stroll through “plenty of nature.”

If Naoki Hamaguchi’s remarks are to be believed, the second part of Final Fantasy 7 Remake will be a far broader game than fans anticipated given the original game’s Midgar-centric emphasis.

Given how much the previous Final Fantasy VII Remake title built on the original Final Fantasy 7’s opening hours, one can only imagine how big the world outside Midgar’s borders will be when Part Two of Final Fantasy VII Remake comes.
