What’s on Netflix
Elena, Nina and Toni’s little daughter, will be played by a child actress in the main cast. The part was most likely awarded to a newbie, considering there was an open casting call for a girl between the ages of 3 and 5 last year.
The plot revolves around Leda, who feels strangely at ease now that she is free of the chains of parenting. According to a Netflix press release, Leda becomes obsessed with fellow mom Nina and her daughter Elena while watching them on the beach, obsessing over them and their boisterous extended family as she recalls her early motherhood days. Leda is drawn back into her own thoughts by an impulsive deed, where she must confront the “unconventional decisions she made as a young mother.”
“The Lost Daughter” will be released in select theatres on December 17, 2021 (via Indiewire). Then, on December 31, 2021, it will be available on Netflix, providing introverts worldwide the ideal excuse to stay in on New Year’s Eve.
