The Fugitive Remake: Who will we see in the movie?

Published by

The Fugitive Remake Updates: The Fugitive was a television show that ended in 1967. Having ended more than half a century ago, the core concept of the show lived on as it was remade for both the big screen and the small screen over the past half-century.
The most famous remake of the title came as Andrew Davis’ 1993 blockbuster with Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones. Jones took home an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in the film. The film won worldwide acclaim. It was successful both commercially and critically, earning $368 million at the Box office and also winning Academy Awards in six categories including Best Picture.
Tommy Lee Jones earned his own spinoff U.S. Marshals, in the year 1998. The title was also remade for the small screen in 2000 but was canceled after one season. Most recently, Boyd Holbrook and Kiefer Sutherland starred in a fresh take of The Fugitive for the short-lived streaming service Quibi last year.
In November 2019, it was announced that Albert Hughes would be taking up the project to remake The Fugitive again. Albert Hughes is one-half of the sibling directorial team behind Menace II Society and The Book of Eli, along with his brother Allen. The announcement was without any consequences as the trail went cold.

The Fugitive Remake: Renewed or Canceled

Although, rumor has it that not only is the film back in development but also that two big names have joined the project as the two leads of the film
As per reports, Academy Award winners Mahershala Ali and Cate Blanchett are in the talks for the film. Mahershala Ali will reportedly play the role of an innocent man on the run Richard Kimble, while Cate Blanchett will play the role of his gender-swapped pursuer Sam Gerard.
The rumors are unfounded as of now because Warner Bros has not said on the topic of The Fugitive remake in over 18 months. But if the rumors are to be believed, the project will be huge with two Academy Award-winning actors leading it.
