Margot Robbie Shared Her New Look On Instagram

Published by

Margot Robbie Updates: For years, Margot Robbie wore her characteristic icy-blonde locks while other A-listers changed up their hairstyles on a regular basis.
When her long waves were trimmed into a shoulder-skimming lob for the Golden Globes in March, the actress hinted at a more experimental hair phase. However, the cold-blonde color and solid side-part persisted.
Then she did the unthinkable and showed up to the Oscars in April with a blunt fringe and a sandy fake bob… and it’s safe to say her excursion into fringes was a success. Will she, like Lily Allen and Taylor Swift, brave the micro-fringe? We can but dream…
Margot’s most recent hair change isn’t as dramatic as a micro-fringe, but it has us all gazing at our screens and booking our next hair appointment. She’s this month’s Vogue cover star, and we’re enamored with the look her glam squad created for her. We’re talking long, burnt-caramel-colored hair with a side-swept fringe (courtesy of hairstylist Bryce Scarlett) and perfect skin with freckles strewn across her nose and cheeks (thanks to MUA Pati Dubroff).
Margot Robbie debuted new bangs on the Oscars red carpet in April, but it wasn’t until British Vogue’s August issue cover that the world got to see her covetable, Jane Birkin-esque look in all its splendor. The golden highlights, which are somewhat French, slightly undone, and wonderfully face-framing, combine to enhance Robbie’s bronzed, freckled skin. It’s the kind of hair that we all desire.

Hairstylist Bryce Scarlett created the look that pays respect to Birkin – a crucial reference on the shoot mood board – with the perfect example of a French-girl fringe, thanks to its laissez-faire attitude and brow-skimming length. “I think the ease and sex appeal of soft ’70s hair truly resonates to the way modern women dress today,” he says to Vogue. “It has the ability to soften a strong look in precisely the right way.”
With social media dubbing Robbie’s new look the “perfect fringe,” it’s worth learning how to achieve it before your next hair appointment. According to hairstylist Larry King, the modern French fringe is “soft on the cheekbones and arches just above the brows,” with the ends integrating into the rest of the haircut.
Meanwhile, it’s rich in texture. “The trick is getting the balance of the fringe edges and total hair length right — the longer your hair, the lower down the fringe edges should go,” he says.
On Instagram, Vogue shared many images from the stunning shoot, telling followers, “On-screen as a ballsy supervillain or behind the camera as a brave producer in her own right, Robbie defiantly affirms the position of women in Hollywood at its most action-packed and provocative.”
