Green Lantern 2 Updates: Martin Campbell, the director of Green Lantern, laughed at the possibility of a sequel. Before starring in Green Lantern in 2011, Campbell had a slew of previous roles. In 1985, he received a BAFTA for the miniseries Edge of Darkness.
Green Lantern is a superhero action film based on the DC Comics superhero of the same name. Hal Jordan (Ryan Reynolds), a test pilot, is at the core of the plot. He is chosen as the first human member of the Green Lantern Corps, an interplanetary organization.
Hal is given a ring that bestows tremendous abilities upon him, which he must utilize to save the universe against Parallax, played by Clancy Brown. Greg Berlanti, Michael Green, Marc Guggenheim, and Michael Goldenberg wrote the script. Blake Lively, Peter Sarsgaard, Mark Strong, Angela Bassett, and Tim Robbins round up the rest of the cast.

Green Lantern grossed $219.9 million worldwide on a projected budget of about $200 million. This is a bad showing for Warner Bros. on a high-budget picture since they wanted to make a lot more money to consider this a financial success. In addition to the film’s poor box office performance, it became a joke.
While there had been talking of a trilogy before, Warner Bros. finally decided against it owing to the film’s low box office performance and the fact that people just didn’t want to see more of this version of the character.
As a result, it’s apparent that a follow-up to the 2011 picture will never be made. However, this does not rule out the possibility of a new Green Lantern film, though Warner Bros. will have to tread carefully.
