The very long-awaited movie Disenchanted which adds to the sequel of the 2007 film Enchanted is soon to be released along with Amy Adams. Enchanted was a renowned film of success in 2007 as it portrays both lives as well as animated characters to parody archetypal fairytale princesses.
As the movie is produced by Disney, it paid tribute to the classic Disney Princess like Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and Snow White and also depict their recurring tropes.
Enchanted is followed by Giselle which is an animated princess who stays in Andalasia who gets pushed into the well by some evil witch which is being cast into a live-action version in New York City. She is found by Robert and she gets scared by him.
She fell in love with him instead of her animated Prince Charming, Edward, and his daughter Morgan. This film’s ending is shown with the end of the sorceress, Edward, and Nancy who is Robert’s designer girlfriend returning.

The ending of Enchanted is a show which left the possibilities of making a sequel in the minds of the audiences as Giselle navigate the real world without any restriction of the Disney princess archetype. There had been many gossips for an Enchanted sequel but nothing was confirmed until Disney+ tweeted about Giselle and Amy Adams’s return on Disney Investor day in December 2020.
Disney revealed that the movie will be premiered on Disney+ instead of theatre release. It began its filming in May 2021 and it is confirmed that the movie will be released in 2022 unknowingly of its date and month. Disney has announced Amy Adams’s return as Giselle in December 2020 but who will star in this sequel with them.
Patrick Dempsey will reprise the role of Robert Philip along with James Marsden as Edward and Idina Menzel as Nancy Tremaine. Edward followed Giselle to New York where he met Nancy. There is also the involvement of new members like Yvette Nicole Brown, Kolton Stewart, Gabriella Baldacchino, Jayma Mays, and Oscar Nunez. Maya Rudolph has also got a chance in Enchanted 2 as the main antagonist is Malvina Monroe.
The plot summarizes that this story takes place after 10 years after the Enchanted ending. After she is happily ever after her marriage with Robert, she begins to question herself that is she truly happy. This puzzle of finding herself leads to a future fight for her friends and family in both the real world and Andalasia.
As Enchanted was successful due to the technique applied to turn fairytale princess tropes on their head, it will be no surprise that Enchanted 2 would take away the tag “happily ever after.”
