Doctor Strange Wong Actor Excited to Return for Shang-Chi

Shang-Chi Updates: Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings debut Doctor Strange’s Wong, and Benedict Wong is very much excited about this inclusion. Wong made his first debut in MCU as the librarian in 2016’s Doctor Strange movie.
His role is then modified into a servant of Doctor Strange rather than the new Sorcerer Supreme as mentioned in the comics. He then appeared at the beginning of Avengers: Infinity War during a New York fight with Ebony Maw and Cull Obsidian. Wong’s latest appearance was in Avengers: Endgame as one of the multiple sorcerers who fights Thanos in the end battle.
After two decades of constant effort, a solo Shang-Chi film was finally set to roll in late 2018. David Callaham was initially assigned to the project as a writer and later director Destin Daniel Cretton joined him in scripting the film. Shang-Chi went through many speed-bumps including the Covid-19 pandemic and the shooting was officially wrapped in October last year. Simu Liu was set to lead the Shang-Chi film and it finally hit theatres on September 3.

The trailer of the film was enriched with cultural diversity and mesmerizing visuals. Apart from these, a true surprise was Wong featuring in this film. Not only fans but also Wong was surprised when he first heard that he will be debuting in the Shang-Chi film.
Wong was busy with SYFY Wire’s upcoming supernatural drama NINE DAYS. When he first got the call for the reprisal of his role, Wong was very much excited, and here is what he said about it.
The nature of MCU, having interconnected storylines, has allowed characters of one film to be featured in other films too, if necessary. Shang-Chi and The Legend of Ten Rings also feature Iron Man 3’s The Mandarin after multiple fake-outs in previous films. It is intriguing to know that Doctor Strange’s Wong and The Incredible Hulk’s Abomination are also included in the film. Fans are very much eager to know how these two distinct characters end up fighting in a tournament.
Wong is very much excited and elated to work with his idol ‘Tony Leung’. Although he didn’t have many scenes with the Mandarin’s leader, surely it is a dream come true for Wong to work with Tony Leung on the same project. Shang-Chi and The Legend of Ten Rings are hitting the theatres on September 3.
