Horror Genre Is a Possibility for Marvel Studios

Published by

Marvel Studios Updates: One of the most exciting genres of the film has to be horror. If done well, they can give a viewer an incredibly powerful experience distracting them from reality and some even find it entertaining and fun since they know the projected events are simply unreal and cannot take place in the real world.
With it presenting such a unique film experience, the horror genre can really tap into a new world of entertainment as it has to create a huge fanbase leading to the making of multiple blockbuster horror films, some even becoming timeless classics which fans can recommend anyone wholeheartedly.
With such spunk in the genre, it is a shame that the Marvel Cinematic Universe hasn’t tapped into its potential creating the first pure horror genre superhero movie. With so many films under its banner, it’s astonishing how the MCU hasn’t yet made a film following this genre.
Ever since the first announcement of Doctor Strange’s sequel fans have been anticipating that this film will bring out the horror fans have craved for so long from Marvel movies.
The Doctor Strange sequel gives marvel the perfect opportunity to do so, the studio has stated that there will definitely be a few horror scenes but the film wouldn’t be a proper horror-based film which can also mean that the studio is planning to take up the genre and will do so in the upcoming films.

Possibility for Marvel Studios

Comic Book Movie
While not a part of the MCU, Marvel has quietly experimented with current horror stories. The New Mutants was created by 20th Century Studios as a superhero film based on the Marvel Comics team of the same name.
Despite the fact that Marvel Entertainment was involved with Josh Boone’s frightening interpretation, the film’s promise was hampered by several studio difficulties and delays.
The upcoming projects of Sony such as the much awaited Morbius and Venom: Let there be Carnage may be the films that adapt this genre the most and we hope they unleash their creativity to the fullest. The horror genre could potentially be a huge game-changer for Marvel which may further help in expanding their fanbase.
